Either way, Ryu/Dante is right up there with Char/Kratos as a second round bracket buster where the winner is almost guaranteed a spot in the fourth round. I think it will be closer than everyone is expecting.

Ryu/Dante is the match that has me most nervous. I know I picked an underdog, and even after today's match is validating Ken, Ryu still feels like an underdog.

It's funny how my bracket rests on the shoulders of both Ryus.

Interesting. Not so sure what happened to Samus then. Samus having only 2 hours below 74% with all of her other hours above 76% is strange.

I looked back at the round 1 Monkey Island match and did a quick hourly trend chart. Monkey Island managed to pull in 5 consecutive 10%+ hours during the night and early morning. If Samus's 2 horrible hours were the result of Europe, then she should have been pulling in more horrible hours than those 2 sub-74% hours.

I like how everyone is saying that Ken isn't weak because Wesker and RE boosted, so SF is strong so Ryu > Dante.

And misses the "RE boosted" and haven't considered if that has a knock on to Leon. Sure, it wasn't his game, but a bost to the series...

I'd say all 3 characters are back in the frame IMOOOO

The Monkey Island games are MUCH more popular in Europe than the Prince of Persia series... Heck, if we had a franchise tourny and if the contest were limited to some specific parts of Europe, Monkey Island would be a contender to win the entire thing... Even if given the most favorable situation, only tallying votes from it's most favorable areas, the Prince of Persia series would never amount to anything close to that...

I'm aware of that. I looked at the Monkey Island match because it was a franchise published by a European publisher.

When someone pointed out that Prince of Persia was made by Ubisoft and that Ubisoft was also a European publisher, I wanted to see exactly how beastly Monkey Island was overnight and in the early morning. It was for the purpose of comparing how long Monkey Island was acting all beastly and seeing if there was any link towards the amount of time that Prince of Persia looked all beastly with the night vote.

Unfortunately, the Prince only had 2 good hours, compared to to Monkey Island's 5 good hours. Not sure if this means that Prince of Persia games aren't as strong as Monkey Island games in Europe, even if both games perform well there.

Yeah, but 2006 was undoubtedly Kairi's best year, and maybe this site has grown some balls since then. I swear, the way I voted in 2006 still shames me to this day. Niko is winning in China. Remember when Vercetti got a surge of a few hundred votes from China that CJayC couldn't explain?

I looked back at the updates for that match again and saw that Vercetti almost got an 80% update in that match, 2 other updates that were around 76%, and one update slightly below 70% (which was the first update of the Vercetti spikes). Kefka's vote totals remained pretty consistent even during the spikes, but it was Vercetti that got some crazy spikes.

Indeed... Atleast kinda... There's atleast some support for Monkey Island in the US... However, Oregon Trail in Europe... If one only counted European votes... Man... Not only would it most likely lose against every other game that has ever appeared in a contest, and every game in every franchise in the franchise contest, and every game that any character that has ever appeared in a character tournament has appeared in... But it would have a hard time beating something like Barbie Vacation Adventure... As a hypothetical scenario it's kinda funny to think about...
