do hope Ryu > Dante happens, although both guys are in my top 5
favorite characters. It would help my bracket, especially after this

boost is still something I FIRMLY and perhaps BLINDLY believe in, so
i'm going for the meg ryan route, also I've just finished FFX, so I'm

Tidus
and Jecht seem like the favourites, IMO. Sub-Zero's had nothing new and
he can barely get into these contests, Tidus had Dissidia (which should
be enough to keep him as the easy favourite). Phoenix Wright's done
well in the four-ways, but 1V1's is another question. It's all a matter

Jecht should have no trouble with Phoenix. Tidus has a better shot now that Dissidia Boost may be real, and only Western characters created in the last three years are doing well, but I'm still gonna favor Sub-Zero there. He's impressed me a lot more than Tidus lately, and even with the gap closing I still think S0 has what it takes to win. Though I definitely wouldn't be surprised if Tidus beat him decisively at this point. --- Not Wylvane |

Backing
Phoenix was better when he was against Gordon Freeman, who was still in
his GFNW stage. Hell, even though common sense said Gordon had it and
everyone knew it, most people still took Phoenix anyway, me included. There's nothing quite like that match-up, especially since Gordon broke his curse once and for all and then with the help of The Orange Box actually became a strong character himself. --- Not Wylvane |

People's opinions on them is already set in stone, compared to someone like Kefka, where people like FP can easily become fans of through it. Although it couldn't hurt! Cool character and all that, but he never caught on with GFaqs too much(hell, I'd probably take Yuna > Tidus at this point...have they ever met in this contest?). Sub-Zero is a childhood favorite of mine, and he got 40% on Auron already. I think he could take out the much less popular FFX protagonist! I'm a Jecht > Wright backer. I know Board 8 has a, quite frankly, creepy obsession with Phoenix Wright and his series, but unfortunately the rest of the GameFAQs populace doesn't feel the same way. Dude gave Gordon Freeman his first win! And that was before his Orange Box boost! Yeah, he beat some scrubs in the form of Geno(lol) and Deckard Cain(who?), and even Bomberman(whoa nelly!), but big deal. Jecht is a newcomer, and a cool one at that. He has an awesome character design, gets plenty of screen time in one of GameFAQs most popular games, and HEY! That Dissidia game doesn't hurt! Jecht
is kinda lame in FFX, as in just about all of his awesomness is and
manliness goes unseen, well lame might be a bad word, but we only ever
see like 5% of his true awesomeness. So even if he's from the big PS2 FF, i'd struggle to see him have much strength. --- Shakes Fist! |

Bowser/Phoenix
from round 1 last year and Bowser/Frog from this year says that Nick
gets 47% on Frog. Maybe you'd pick Jecht over Frog, but I don't really

don't remember Jecht having much screen time at all in FFX, but it
wasn't exactly the most memorable game for me anyway. I went with
Phoenix simply because it's a night match, board vote counts extra and
he'll only have to suffer through a couple hours of that horrible day
vote. --- KrahenProphet and Nintendo cleaned me out in the Guru Contest. |

Just look at the boost MC got before Halo 3 was even out. He was near N9 lvl. This is easily the most hilarious thing I've ever seen. First of all, MC's only match before Halo 3 was the Yuna match, where he looked right about where he should have been. Maybe a tad stronger. He didn't explode until round 2 which was after Halo 3 came out. Secondly, you're arguing that Sonic is anything but a beaten dead horse that noone cares about anymore. don't feel too good about Phoenix. I think that Frog/PW comparison
probably overrates Phoenix because Bowser had reason to underperform
against him (First Place Factor). I would not take Jecht over Frog
though for the reason that Frog has a bigger role in CT than Jecht does
in FFX, and CT is a little stronger than FFX. I feel pretty good about Tidus though- Cube, Megaman, and now Tails have done well this year. --- 6 years later, Crono's quest to defeat Sephiroth -- Round 1: Missingno 'Till shade is gone, 'till water is gone, into the shadow with teeth bared.... |

thirdly, FF13 is 2 months away, and has gotten nothing but negative
reviews from every site. If the awesome FF12 failed to ignite a fire
under the series with it's fresh take on gameplay, a FFX clone complete
with a lame cast and overly linear plot/world definitely won't. The
fact that Lightning is stronger than Balthier can be blamed on both TJF

looking ahead, the next 2 divisions should be pretty good. That
Tidus/Subby/Roxas fourpack will be nice, and that Capcom half-division
