This pretty much means Charizard is going to have the lowest prediction percentages if he makes the divisional finals, round of 8. Vivi or Altair could possibly be lower in the next round. Any other candidates?

By the way, Kratos doing this poorly makes Jill and Ocelot look horrible. He did better on them than he's doing on Tails right now. Any cause for concern with Jill > Niko?

I don't expect anyone to be concerned, but the complete lack of concern about that match makes me concerned.

I'm not concerned at all. GTAIV has aged another year and Wesker looked great. I think Jill is going to have one of her best performances in a while.

But honestly, I would take Jill and Ocelot over Duke, who beat Niko pretty easily, so that makes me feel a little better about that.

Street Fighter 4 bombed hard last games contest for no clear reason leaving me to wonder if SF is just having a bad year and it translated into Ken. I won't know until we see Ryu's first match. Personally I'm looking forward to that one just to see if Ken really did bomb his match.

I'm not really sold on the GTA4 expansions giving Niko a boost. Especially since he wasn't even in either games aside from multiple, quick cameos none of which are playable.

This contest has been pretty weird so far, so it wouldn't surprise me that much. Ryu > Dante(and later, Leon) doesn't have that many supporters, but if he can somehow pull an upset, that would be great points wise.

Then again, Dr Football has Ryu > Dante, and he's apparently God at this point.

I was honestly expecting God of War 3 to give Kratos a bit of a boost to get over the whole "PS3 exclusive character" hump that plagues others. Obviously, that is not happening and for that I was wrong.

Marketing can do a lot. (@GoW3 hype.) So they should market it.

I have Charizard losing to Sora -- but I wouldn't be surprised if Charizard beat Sora. For now, though, I still have Sora winning.

I also have Ryu beating Dante and Leon. SFIV is going to do it for him. Keep in mind that Wesker just got his first title where he had a starring role (RE5) and it did very well. Ken is going to put up a good fight against Ganondorf I think.

Its hard to see if Ken just sucks ass or Wesker got good thanks to RE5 boost. I know that I personally wasn't a Wesker fan until he became super awesome in RE5.

It's hard to see Ken take too much of a drop because M. Bison, Chun Li and Akuma have all done well for themselves while Ryu hasn't dropped either.

I know that games != characters, but I was pointing out the fact that fighting games have a very small fanbase on this site. Look at how Street Fighter as a whole did in the games contest.

That's all fine and dandy, but Ryu has always been strong, and it's because of his games. That doesn't mean that as a game itself it's going to beat other games necessarily -- but Ken beat Wesker and I guarantee that RE5 would beat SFIV in a poll.

However, because of the exposure of games characters receive boosts in popularity. SFIV is the first multi-platform SF (I think ever, maybe just of this gen) and it sold very well, while SSFIV is coming out in April. Ryu is the flagship character so he'll end up with the biggest boost from the game.

I honestly am looking forward to the Ken vs. Ganondorf match. Rallying is legal right? I'm sure there will be rallying for Ken going on in sites like SRK and stuff.

Ryu is pretty strong because of his status as well. There's a reason why he's so much stronger than everyone else and pretty clearly stronger than any other fighting game character.

Sure, I admit that. Still, Ryu has always been a pretty popular guy, and though Dante has boosted since his loss to Ryu back in the day, its hard to gauge how strong Ryu is since he was in a LOL-Block and Crono match. He did beat Bowser twice back in '07(and the second time that wasn't any SFF excuse).

I'm really liking Zack's chances against Mega Man after seeing all the FF boost -- as long as it remains consistent (Jecht blows out Phoenix, Tidus kills Sub-Zero, and the others peform really well.) It's really too bad Zack is going to have to deal with only having the face pic (which I think is a weird idea in the first place, since a lot of characters rely on their design for votes.)

Wow, I have Kratos > Sora. Ouch. I guess I was counting getting toSora based off his native strength and then boosting for that match due to the impending release of GoW III.

But his native strength seems to be crap.

Oh I never said that Zack had Dissidia, but I think that he can benefit indirectly from Dissidia because of Cloud, and he's had his fair share of gaming appearances (as well as short movies etc.)

Ryu is just speculation, of course, but I think he's stronger than Dante and Leon anyway. SFIV/SSFIV is/are just icing on the cake.

I'm interested in how many people think Ken can put up a good fight against Ganondorf?

What's your definition of a good fight? Sonic put up 69% back when he was a step above the near elites. I'm guessing around 34-35% for Ken.

I'm predicting more in the 40 - 45 range, and hoping that somehow, in some way, Ken can manage to beat Ganondorf. He's definitely got a pic advantage in the face round -- too bad it wasn't the sprite round.
