Magus. Magus has been stronger than Kefka every year, CT improved on FFVI by a lot in the Games Contest relative to 2004, and the only reason Magus would lose to Kefka now is that Magus/Knuckles and his subsequent matches have been more embarassing than anything Kefka's ever done.

I'm really glad I switched from Neku to Laharl at the last minute!

...and picks such as Ellis > Shepard.

I'm still kicking myself over that. Fortunately though, I think that's the only dumb upset left in my bracket; the Fawful/Drake damage has already been done.

---
Kefka's match picture is the best of the contest.
Characters who messed up my bracket: Shadow, Drake, Fawful, Liquid

I have to agree with whoever said that it's a mystery why people continue to have faith in Kefka despite being burned by him repeatedly.

I stopped having faith in Kefka after his match against Vercetti
Seriously, his last impressive match was against Knuckles in 2004

Arthas would probably beat Marth. He especially would after this whole WoW expansion thing. Kefka has got nothing.

Poll implodes.

But seriously, DK, and easily. He may be the master of choking, but he just isn't as naturally weak as Kefka is.

Ike > Marth. Ike leads in two FE-games on consoles in America and he's the casual star of SSBB. Marth doesn't have an American game he carries to my knowledge and he's a tourney-favorite of SSBM and maybe SSBB (I've not followed that in a long time). Ike also made it in this year as a four-seed...while Marth was in the vote-ins and failed to make it into the contest (took fifth place, losing to MK and Peach as well as Akuma and Thrall [probably due to LFF]).

I don't have time to double-check it, but I think Ike also did better on Pikachu than Marth did on DK.

Marth is the main character of Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon for the DS which was released last year, but that game got some very, very mixed reviews.

Genealogy of the Holy War (4) and Thracia 776 (5) are extremely good. Mystery of the Emblem (3, Marth's main game) is a bit of a mixed bag, but I'm partial to it because the English patch is half my doing. <_<

Yeah, Shadow Dragon was a remake of the original, despite the fact that Mystery added a second book (equal in length) that actually possessed a story.

But admittedly I didn't play them more than one mission and didn't bother patching half of them so maybe I was missing GREAT PLOT and stuff. <_<

I haven't seen anything whatsoever suggesting that FE games have any strength. In 2004, FE7 got doubled by FFTA. 5 years later, it got 60-40'd by DISGAEA. (Granted, Melee and Wind Waker were in that match, but still...)

This actually matters a lot. Triple SFF is a very powerful thing, and when you're a New Nintendo game competing with Super Smash Bros. Melee and a Zelda game, you're going to get completely annhilated.

Fire Emblem extrapolates out to 15th in the Series contest! Ahead of WarCraft, Grand Theft Auto, Metroid, and Pokeymanz!

(Let's ignore why it's ahead of those last two and also the favorable picture vs Metal Gear, please.)

Anything made by Nintendo beginning with the Gamecube counts as "New."

For Square, anything beginning with FFVII counts as New.

And while Guybrush has never made it personally, Monkey Island made it to round 2 of the games contest.
