You
have never played Halo, Ninja Gaiden or Team Fortress 2, and are one of
the many people in the stats topic who constantly misfires with regard
to how casual characters will perform. These are facts, not sarcasm.
But if jabs at me help you sleep at night, have fun :D I missed Altair/Liquid. You missed The Boss/Drake - and I seem to recall you calling that an obvious match. Zelda is nowhere near the Noble Nine. She's Top 20. Which is pretty damn close to Noble Nine. She's probably near the bottom of Vincent's tier but above the Bowser tier. not going to get over-dramatic about the match-picture (it's no
sprite-Luigi against Bacondorf...!), but I could see TF2-fans being

I have never seen a new character get anywhere close to that level. That's a good point. If we're looking at characters created after the first contest, the strongest is Sora, but he only reached the near-elites after KH2. Also, just for kicks on this one: Ulti's Oracles: MMX - 70.25% Nathan Drake - 55% WCC - 62% GlaDOS - 57% Mine: MMX - 70.18% The Boss - 51.01% WCC - 64.86% GlaDOS - 55.55% Admittedly, you got a better Oracle than me for today by a lot (but Spy last year didn't impress me. That's got nothing to do with "Ohhhhh, I don't know casual characters!" Spy didn't exactly light it up last year), but I don't know how in the world you predict 70% for Hayabusa, 60% for Chief, and then somehow say Chief > Hayabusa is a lock. Yeah,
KingOfKoopas, I agree, although Bowser's path into the Noble Nine is
most likely an indirect one. See, there are no Noble Niners in the
Heart Division, so he'd have to win a quarterfinal match to break it
directly. Seeing as how Mario is the favorite to win the Mushroom Division, a direct assault seems foolish. However, there is a back door for Bowser. While it obviously wasn't the principle that founded the Noble Nine, the current requirements of the Nine is that they've never lost to a non-member in a 1v1, and also, if any one member were to do so, removing the member that lost would not restore the perfect status as each of them has beaten another at least once. Therefore, the only way to maintain this perfect status is to add more members, though if a large expansion would be needed, it is widely agreed that it would be better to just axe the whole thing. Bowser himself is a chain ender (no non-Nine losses in his past), and he's the only non-Niner that has beaten Yoshi in a 1v1. As it turns out, Yoshi's bracket placement has him set to take on Crono in round 2 as long as he doesn't inexplicably lose to the fodderiffic Jak in round 1. (Crono's first-round opponent has no history at all and would therefore be allowed seamless entry if it were to pull the upset.) Crono may have been one of the stronger members of the Nine in the past, but 2006 and 2007 suggested he's becoming one of the weak links of the Nine. (Crono had a deceptively strong 2008 run, taking advantage of Link SFFing both Mario and Samus in their semifinal fourpack to advance to the finals--although Crono deserves credit for avenging his '07 loss to Vincent in the quarterfinals, and there wasn't even any L-factor because Pikachu had helped Crono knock off the block a round earlier) It's possible that Yoshi could break the Nine, and if he does, Bowser's 2003 victory over him would make the King of the Koopas a member, as well. (Yeah, I noticed that about your username.) Some users have told me that that's not how the Noble Nine works. what it's worth, being a potential Noble Nine-breaker doesn't mean as
much as it used to since Sonic seems to be ****ing it up lately. I also thought Ulti called Drake the obvious pick. I remember him saying the writing was on the wall and I think I remember him calling it a toss-up close to the match...but I'm pretty sure you've called Drake the obvious pick at some point. That's
a good point. If we're looking at characters created after the first
contest, the strongest is Sora, but he only reached the near-elites
after KH2. Next is Kratos who is probably not on Zelda's level yet. Sora's first year he lost to Aeris, who would get smoked by Zelda every single year. AC2 was not as hyped or loved on this site as much as Kingdom Hearts. Kratos lost to Alucard and to Ryu, two characters who are weaker than Zelda. Hell, I wouldn't even put Kratos on Zelda's tier yet, and God of War is a bigger series here than Assassin's Creed. You're seriously using BT stats in order to make your pick seem worthwhile. All the stats make sense. How did Altair prove that Liquid is nowhere near his 2008 level? The only thing it really proves is that Altair is far above the level people thought he would be at. WSF + AC2 provide this. How much he improved depends on how Liquid changed from 08 to now. Like I said, I think it would be able 55/45 for Zelda (maybe a bit better for her.) I think that Altair and Ezio are both stronger than she is. But anyway we'll see how good they really are when Altair beats Vivi down. You guys are just being pretty ignorant though with your blind 'ZOMG ZELDA WILL WIN SHE'S ZELDA.' While I provide actual reasoning. All the stats make sense. You're basing your stats off of Liquid from 2008. I already went over plenty of times during and before the Liquid/Altair match that those stats were completely wrong. That's why they make no sense. It would be like judging Bowser during his match with Frog and saying he could beat Mario because of how close Frog got to Snake. How did Altair prove that Liquid is nowhere near his 2008 level? Altair proved that Liquid was near his 2007 level. Otherwise, it would put Altair near Ganondorf and Zelda, which makes no sense at all. (I'm going to continue to say that until you get it through your head, btw). The only thing it really proves is that Altair is far above the level people thought he would be at. WSF + AC2 provide this. I was a big supporter of Altair before the contest, and I still am. I argued for a big AC2 boost and a WSF boost pre-contest as well. Everything went exactly as planned. The only difference is, I'm not delusional enough to think that Altair boosted from losing to Duke Nukem to being almost even with Auron and Squall. Like I said, I think it would be able 55/45 for Zelda (maybe a bit better for her.) I think that Altair and Ezio are both stronger than she is. Zelda would smoke Liquid like no tomorrow.
