...Why? What did Spy do last year to make you think this?

It's not what HE did, to me at least. It's what Valve has done and what Gordon did in the Gamespot contest. >_>

I'm calling it a lock because Ryu H couldn't draw votes against Crash ****ing Bandicoot. More people care about WCC than Ryu H. Most people chose not to vote rather than vote Ryu H. If Ryu H had good strength, he would've garnered higher votals. The fact that he's a worse vote-draw than Zidane gives me the impression he isn't going to touch Chief.

If it is not percentage during the ASV compared to other hours, then what exactly are we discussing, then? Because I honestly don't see anything else you could use to give Ike claim to one of the most powerful ASV's ever. :-/

Since you used Link as an example....Ike jumps in percentage way more during the ASV than Link. Link's very strong 24 hours a day.

I still think you guys are underestimating Crash all the same. I forgot about all the Steam stuff for Valve. Spy's probably stronger than last year, but I think Crash > Spy last year, at least. At the very least, it'd be close. I don't see Spy winning "easily."

This is definitely arguable, yeah. I'd say Crash CAN win it (and it wouldn't surprise me if he did), but it likely wouldn't be worse than a 55-45 win.

They matter in comparison to previous sales.

i.e. Mario has already sold 200 million+ games, so adding another million or 2 will do nothing.

Even Board 8 has been embracing Valve. I'm pretty sure even this board would agree that Valve is the best company this gen.

If Board 8 can embrace a Western company, I can see the rest of GameFAQs, too. Heavy should impress against Roxas, and I think Gordon will do better than most expect (though whether he'll be "upsetting Tifa" good remains to be seen).

Gordon's not upsetting Tifa unless Valve rallies him again or the girl has fallen WAAAAAAAAY off the map. It's one thing to be on the cusp between low midcarder and midcarder, it's another thing to be hanging there at the Top 15.

By the way, Hayabusa finished at 53.15% on Magus 2007 (probably the most embarassing one) through Crash. If Chief somehow loses by more than that during the day I am going to laugh so hard. Conceding Chief is the favorite to beat Hayabusa though.

2008 Magus is far more embarrassing. 2008 Magus wouldn't have advanced out of round 1 against Phoenix/Bomberman/Crash.

Heck, he may have finished last.

He should be getting 70%+ updates with the ASV. We're starting the match during the time period when the Chief sucks (on a weekday at least).

Still think Chief beats Hayabusa with room to spare, and that Spy has boosted due to Valve (also his pic is pretty neat here, and highly recognizable I'm using for those who've played the game).

Heavy should impress against Roxas, and I think Gordon will do better than most expect (though whether he'll be "upsetting Tifa" good remains to be seen).

DItto. Would be very surprised if Gordon actually beat Tifa however.

Whoa whoa whoa, either there's way too much Phoenix love there or way too much Magus hate. I mean, he's bad, but falling below Bomberman and Crash? Naw, impossible. Heck, he'd probably still beat Phoenix comfortably.

Magus wouldn't have dropped a match he took an easy first in a year later, though. He got 57% on Phoenix and Bomberman. Plus, Crono and Frog looked even or better than their 2007 selves in 2008. Yeah, Magus doesn't really care about them and is quite capable of freefalling without them, but he still takes first in that poll in 2008.

I would have taken Crash > Spy pre-contest...I don't know if I would now for sure, but I probably would. Comparing Crash-on-Samus against Spy-on-Arthas makes me wary about just how much Spy could boost.

I also hope this shows MC can't SFF diddly. Each Halo-game is MUCH bigger than TF2 and MC's the star of all three while Spy is part of a nine-character ensemble, yet MC's not exactly impressing. Between this and Halo barely beating SW:KotOR, people should know Halo doesn't have any special powers here. I still don't count on any Xbox-hierarchy.
