Good thing Master Chief is no Solid Snake!

I would have thought the match would be more even in the Guru at least, though.

I have no idea why. Hayabusa beat Zero last year.

Yep. I do think Pit and Dedede hurt Zero more (which is why I think Zero is still a bit ahead 1v1), I would never dream of taking Chief over Zero in a standard match. That, and this 12 hour format just seems like a godsend to the people who love anti-voting Chief and booting him early.

Master Chief is not the character to steal away Hayabusa's 'badass' vote. There are choice few characters who will do that and Chief ain't one of them.

If Chief loses to Hayabusa, I will say this: I will never take him again against anyone or anything of any appreciable strength. EVER.

I don't care if the match is Master Chief vs Arbiter. Chief will find a way to choke

Ryu H gets most of his support from Xbox. Chief is the face of 360 and always considerd one of the most badass characters in gaming (just look at any top 10 badasses in gaming out there). Ryu H will fold. He'll be lucky to get 35%

not really worth arguing though if people honestly think Ryu H is stronger. Nothing Ryu H has ever done has made him look stronger then Chief of post 360. I would never take Ryu H to be anywhere near close to Kirby or Dante like Chief was even last year. People are too wrapped up with early Chief to realize he's gotten a lot stronger over the years.

Hayabusa has really freakin' impressed in his last two contests whenever he wasn't pitted against Solid Snake. Chief took a major tumble last year, and I expect him to keep falling. I don't care how naturally weak Spy is, I expect him to tear a huge percentage out of the Xbox mascot tomorrow.

Hell yes I would. Chief is ass overnight, Valve has grown even more since last year, Chief is a big anti-vote target while Spy is universally likable. Spy got 42% on Subby in the vote-in polls. Potential rallying. And finally, but most important, it's Chief.

I mean, that's the kind of match Chief would TRY to choke in.

I'm predicting Spy hits the high 30s (if not more), and it won't all be due Chief Chokin'. Valve/Steam has gotten far more popular the last few months with all of their incredible sales during the holidays. I'm guessing TF2 was snagged by about a zillion new people when Valve offered it for two dollars and fifty cents.

Match XXIII: (7) Ryu Hayabusa vs. (10) Crash Bandicoot

Information

Name: Ryu Hayabusa
Game/Series: Ninja Gaiden
Previous Contest: 2008
Performance: 4th in round 2

Name: Crash Bandicoot
Game/Series: Crash Bandicoot
Previous Contest: 2008
Performance: 3rd in round 1

Analysis

Final day of the Mushroom Division which I think everyone is glad to be over. Besides Zack/Yuna there were no debated matches and these next two matches are not any different. It is like someone took seven half decent characters and put them against seven characters that don’t have much of a chance against them. The second round on the other hand is shaping up to be a bracket buster though.

With Solid Snake on the opposite side of the bracket nothing is stopping Hayabusa from having a decent performance. In four-ways Hayabusa was able to put up decent performances before facing Solid Snake in the second round. Some people may try to give the credit to the bracket format, but a lot has happened since 2006 and even if Hayabusa decides to plunge back to his 2006 strength it should still be enough to win over Crash.

4-ways was also kinder to Crash since the days where he got crushed by Master Chief, or maybe it was the site shift. Either way Crash isn’t in the same league as Hayabusa and this match only serves as a stepping stone for next round.

If Hayabusa matches Master Chief’s performance back in 2004 I think people should sound the upset alarm. On the other hand that match happened almost six years ago and a lot has changed. I always wondered how strong Crash would have been back when he was the mascot for the Playstation. His fall from grace would probably be worse than Magus.

charmander6000’s Bracket: Ryu Hayabusa > Crash Bandicoot

charmander6000’s Prediction: Ryu Hayabusa wins, 65.74% - 34.26%

Oh day characters definitely benefit with day matches. There's not much day trending because the match starts during the day, and vote frequency is high from the start.

But there's a big difference in performance from the first 12 hours to the next 12. Just look at characters like Sub-Zero last year, and work out their 12 hour strengths. Day and night are very different from each other. Day trends are pretty much the same as always, just hidden due to start time.
