I'm glad Megaman did well, but let's not draw too much from it.
Remember 2006 when all of us were attacking Megaman for looking
horrible in each of his first 3 matches? He ended up right with Crono
and Sonic and not far behind them like he looked like he was going to

Yuna. Cid is a legit midcarder too, but he just FEELS weaker than Yuna.
Then again, this is all about indirect comparisons, because we'd

= Rikku sounds reasonable enough (and has for awhile), so yeah,
ZackFAQs would have a legitimate shot of taking the Chaos Division. I'd
still favor Kirby > Zack, considering Kirby beat Rikku worse in a
night-match than Zack's currently beating Yuna and there's the chance
Zack's SFF'ing Yuna a bit...but that's okay. Zack would still likely
beat the likes of Vivi and Altair with some room to spare, I'd take
Yuna over our current Lighting in a heartbeart, and I don't think Ganon

I doubt that highly. This is just Zack being strong. Yuna/Cid would be close. I think these days FFX characters are going to be stronger than FFVII characters, outside of the obvious strong ones like Vincent, Auron, etc. I really wouldn't be surprised if Yuna/Rikku could beat half of FFVII's cast. --- 4th place in Summer Contest 2k4 |

Would be very surprised if Lightning turned out to be stronger than Cid before her game came out. Zack/Sonic would have been great. can't imagine any FFVII party member other than Cait Sith losing to
Lightning. Zack is easily beating FFX's probable #2 (I doubt Tidus
would be looking as good against that sick picture Zack has right now);
it's hard to imagine Cid dropping the ball against a FF character whose

Also, Zack may be the strongest character starting with the letter Z based on this performance! There isn't exactly much competition...oh, wait, actually, there's a surprisingly good amount of competition. Or is it surprising? Z is a rare letter, but rare letters are considered "cool" and so they're probably more common in character names. And most of the other "Z" characters are fairly strong, too. Zelda has put up strong numbers and has yet to lose a 1v1 to a non-Nine (which is also true of Zack, but he's never been in a 1v1 so that's a meaningless stat), and Zero...while Zero cannot say that he's never lost to a non-Niner, he may actually be stronger than Zelda. 2006 was the only year that he didn't lose to a Noble Nine during the 1v1 era, and that was a close match against another solid midcarder; 2007 required two Noble Niners and Vincent to hold him down; and against all logic, his best numbers against the Noble Nine have come against Mega Man, where you'd expect him to be SFFed into oblivion, because that's what Noble Niners do to non-Nine members of their own franchise--hell, Cloud does it to Sephiroth, who is a Noble Niner! Yet when Zero and Mega met head-to-head, it was only 56-44 in Mega's favor, and when they landed in a fourpack together in 2008, Zero landed in fourth place, but leached enough of Mega's vote to make him finish in third. To the Weighted Companion Cube. As for "strongest character with a Z", I'm not so sure. Zack's only at 56.50% right now. To have any shot of claiming that title, he'd have to finish with at least 57.02% of the vote, which is what Zelda did when she faced Yuna in the quarterfinals of the 2006 tournament. |

Yeah, the FAQs is storming now. Man, I loved Zack's 2008 run as a big contest fan, but I actually played through FFVII just as the contest ended and really appreciated the guy. think I'll just whine about the match pic instead. Seriously, wtf. It's not bad, exactly, but it's the exact opposite kind of pic she needs against a guy like Zack. With a better one I'm betting she breaks 45%. |

Today's match pic is the best one so far. Really? For both characters? The contrast is just plain awesome. The contrast highlights Yuna's feminine, graceful side against Zack's brooding badass. Not a lot of people at this site vote for feminity and grace. Again, I'm not saying Yuna's pic looks bad. It's just not going to win her any votes against Zack (that weren't going her way anyway). Hell, when I first saw the whole thing I pictured Zack hitting 75%. So she's doing pretty good as far as I'm concerned :) |
