Yeah, old-Square vs. SSB in the ASV = riot. Though I didn't pay attention to Ike's ASV either!

But the poor kid has never advanced past the 1st round, and yet we're giving him a 4 seed now? Yikes. Come to think of it, most the 4 seeds are ridiculous choices:

Captain John Price
Albert Wesker
Ike
Bowser
Tidus
Captain Falcon
Commander Shepard
Crono

Why are we giving Magus fodder (meaning fodder for Magus) the same seeding as a Noble Niner? Only Bowser and Tidus really fit the seedings here. And whose idea was it to give Soap MacTavish a 3 seed? A completely new character outseeding a Noble Niner in his own division is...weird, to say the least. We should've reversed Gordon and Crono's positions in that division, and then maybe, uh, reverse Vincent and Ike? Also, here are some rematches that I'm dying to see:

Bowser/Leon - I think Leon has this now without a doubt. But it'll be funny to see Mr. I Almost Beat Solid Snake falter here (then again, the fact that he went from almost beating Solid Snake to losing handily to Liquid Snake in the span of 3 years is certainly something. Okay fine, there was SFF in that match, whatever).
Kratos/Ryu - Do not doubt that Kratos wins this now. Just don't.

-What makes you guys think Cid is going to break 40% on Mega Man? He's probably going to score 35% at most. Remember that Mega Man barely failed to break 30% on Axel, and Cid is probably around his level. And remind me what Cid does in FF7 again? All that I remember is that he mans the crew's airship, and that he built a spaceship only to see everybody bail out of crisis in space.

Remember he's not just in 7 though, I haven't played them all but IIRC the name "Cid Highwind" is a character in every FF game, with a different character design each time.

Or is that completely wrong

That's just "Cid" actually.

I think the only other game Cid Highwind is in is KH1, though I'm not sure about that. I don't know, I'm rooting for Cid to break 40%, but I wouldn't be all together surprised if he didn't. I'd certainly be disappointed though.

The fact Lightning did so well against Sonic would lend credibility to the 40%+ Cid argument. It really depends more or less on how bad Sonic really is. A few short years ago Megaman = Sonic virtually, but now we all know that is far from the case. Cid obviously has to be stronger than Lightning, but if it's enough to put up good numbers on Megaman is difficult to say.

I'm not sure why many people consider Cid to be so much weaker than the rest of the secondary FF cast (AKA not Cloud/Seph)

Cid Highwind is a unique character. Cid Pollendina was the character in FFIV... they look or act nothing alike. Cid in FFX was a bald headed guy.

Cid's in KH1 and 2, but he plays a bit part in both. I wouldn't expect any additional strength from that.
