And just how often do people call Ezio "Altair?"

The biggest point I was making is how Snake/Big Boss look almost identical... and so do Altair/Ezio. So one would expect Altair to get proxy votes essentially, especially with how big boss looks much stronger when he has a Snake pic.

I wouldn't say that. It just should be more spread out instead of being more ASV stacked. So if anything, it'll just prevent Liquid from getting a lead that Altair will cut into once the ASV hits.

For whatever reason, FFIV doesn't have as bad of a day vote as other old square, and like you said, once known for its day vote. These days Sonic Team is simply above average at day.

Snake was due a boost anyway, just based on how awful he was in 2004. And he still let Bowser nearly beat him!

Considering that was a sprite match and compared to what that did to him in 2004, I view that match as impressive on his part now!

Analysis

After he was given a free ride to the fourth round last year because of LFF Mewtwo is stuck in an unwinnable position this year. Ganondorf is no Midna and for the second time Mewtwo loses to a higher ranked Nintendo villain. On the other side with the far from good performances of Sonic and Knuckles an upset by Ganondorf is becoming a true possibility. A Nintendo match isn’t the best way to start when comparing strength, but looking good early is always a plus.

The main question is whether or not Ganondorf would be able to SFF Mewtwo. While I agree that the overlap between Pokemon and the rest of Nintendo is small because Pokemon originated from a handheld while the other series have their big releases on the consoles characters like Pikachu and Mewtwo also has Super Smash Bros. to fall on and given how badly Mewtwo defeated Ness last year it seems that there is a connection. There’s also the question of whether or not Ganondorf has any SFF power since his only match against a weaker Nintendo character was against Luigi and they broke even. However relative to Ryu Mewtwo did pretty well resisting SFF despite Bowser and Toad being in the same poll.

While I believe that some people were a bit hard on Mewtwo because he went equal on a stronger Midna he is still a long way away from being a near elite. It’s a shame that Mewtwo has to go out in round 1 against a much stronger opponent, but at the same time he isn’t the only character to be hit hard with bracket placement, especially when other four-packs are a free ride to round 3 to other weaker characters.

Yes, it is. Right now, it's 11:45 AM in the Philippines, which uses a GMT +8 timezone. Other countries in Asia use that timezone too, but not all of them.

Oh, and I've been one of those saying for *years* that Shadow from FF6 would be the strongest Shadow (stronger than the Hedgehog, even when the hog was semi-legit).

With the performances of guys like Rydia and Cecil today, it tends to lend a lot of credence to that. Shadow wouldn't be as strong as he would've been 3-4 years ago - he would've been a beast back then IMO. But he would still be quite respectable today I think.

Also I was among those who said blaming the pic for Rydia's performance was nonsense (any non-Amano pic and she's fine; and she's probably stronger with a sprite). Glad to see that reaffirmed.

Considering I'm a huge fan of FFVI I think I do. I stand by Terra being the strongest playable FFVI character and I think Dissidia will cement that.
