Well, stranger things have happened! Didn't the FFIV characters do pretty well with the day vote last year?

And by stranger things, I refer to CT's round 1 match last year where it mirrored FFVII's trends until the ASV.....and then it continued to mirror the new FFVII trends!

Ah, nothing like a close match to get you going, eh? On the one hand, I have Knuckles in my bracket, so I really should be rooting for him. On the other hand, 29 of the 39 remaining entries in Last User Standing have Knuckles for 1-3, and I'm one of the 10 that doesn't, so a Cecil win makes things infinitely easier. Either way, close match=win.

My confidence in Ganondorf was at an all time high before the contest. In the last few days before LOCKDOWN, I realized it was the sprite round and changed it to Sonic (still have Kirby beating both though). I'm hoping for an absolutely brutal Bacondorf picture that allows Sonic to barely squeak by.

I honestly think just having a sprite picture will help Sonic, even beyond what Bacondorf does. It's the new Sonic games people hate, not the old Genesis games, and a sprite picture will remind people of those.

I don't think 4-ways boosted Sonic characters. Or had any effect on them, really. If you look at 2008 and assume there was very little SFF from Nintendo characters, then Shadow/Knuckles/Sonic are all seen in very different lights.

Really, Sonic looks consistent with 2008, if you weren't assuming that the 4-way format hurt him. He got 46% on Auron and 48% on Kirby, in a year where Nintendo looked bad, including Kirby before that Sonic match. 46% on Auron and 48% on Kirby is barely near-elite level, if that.

Crono's only night match is against Sephiroth.

So in other words, no, Crono won't have a night match.

Although, it probably wouldn't matter who was going there against Sephiroth. The fact that it will be a night match will only make Sephiroth>Yoshi an even bigger blowout.

Knuckles is lucky that he has both US and Europe on his side. Canada is making its mark though.

Yoshi is way too below Crono's level for the day advantage to matter. IIRC Crono usually loses 3 or 4% in the more difficult matches when it goes from Night to day vote

there's no way Yoshi is only 3~4% weaker than Crono.

I'm incredibly disappointed in Canada right now.
