Looks like Sonic is doing bad in Canada and great in England, the opposite of Mega Man. This is hilarious when you look at how it matches the tastes of our Canadian (me) vs English (smurf) users.

Zack is apparantly in the game, I could see some of the main trio in a gamefaqs contest, but if the game sweeps its Goty like 358/2 and Dissidia did, Zack to level up a little bit again?

I forgot to mention that Sonic has set a new record for scoring the worst as a 1 seed in the first round (well, unless you count Halo).

Dunno what else to say. It seems that Sonic has been doing slightly better than since I first saw him, but I could be wrong.

Looking two Noble Niners ahead, what kind of percentages are we expecting for Cid to get on Megaman? I think he can get 45%, since I expect her to be a step stronger than Aeris, and Aeris got 44% on Zelda in 2006, when Ganondorf was still ahead of Auron in the stats.

What are you talking about? Have you heard some of the stuff Link says? They say he's a silent protagonist, but really, they just censor everything he says. It's that filthy.

At least Sonic never let Lightning cut him last night...that could have been devastating to his future.


Knuckles could outdo Sonic here if he dodges anti-votes. We've seen in 2007 and 2008's four-ways that he can 60-40 both KOS-MOS and Fei Wong and narrowly beat Rikku-with-Vaan (despite having Nintendo in all of those matches if that matters)...and if we don't like using four-ways, the last time we saw Knuckles one-on-one was in 2005 when he beat Magus and got 46% on Squall. Compare that to letting Cecil-with-Zack (doubting SFF, but who knows) be doubled by Wario in 2008 and seeing him be tripled by Kirby in 2005.

Considering how poor Magus looked earlier this round, it could mean either Knuckles too should drop equally (if you want to follow 2005's stats today literally) or that old-school Square could drop. Cecil is older than Magus and we saw FF4 be disappointing in BGE2. This will be our first test for Dissidia, but it probably won't mean much considering the SSB-series has only done so much for some of our fodder.

Throw in that Knuckles gets Cecil in the day-time compared to Lightning at night, and Knuckles has some serious potential to match Sonic here. The biggest challenge about actually doing this is that Knuckles has his own reasons to drop, thanks to Sonic...but since he's not so associated with the hated side of Sonic and seems to have held up better in recent years than his brethren, this might happen...

...and if it does, you better believe I'm going full-steam on Knuckles > Sonic.

Knuckles beating Sonic would be brilliant. If the N9 must break, for Knuckles to do it would be superb. And it would prove the presence of rSFF as well (if that hasn't already been proved; I'm a bit rusty on these things). I know who I'm voting for in that one - provided Knuckles wins against Cecil that is - and he's not blue.

Actually, have we even seen any real trends besides Red/Ocelot? I know most of the matches have been rather static as far as percentages throughout the day go, and there hasn't been much disparity in percentages in the trend charts Leon's been posting.

And for the record, I don't actually think Knuckles can overcome the SFF of Sonic at this time -- if people seem to be forgetting the old-school Sonic games, then Knuckles will drift to the wayside to them as well. That said, we've seen it in the old favorites-polls before, and if there's a more legitimate argument for this in a contest, I'm going to stay on it.

Most of our matches so far have been on days when people were off. And yesterday, Drake and Boss had similar trends anyway. We should see some decent trend swings today.

Yeah, the trends haven't been very strong so far. There were some definite trends in this match though. Lightning did much better during the dead hours, and Sonic's been doing a lot better since morning.

And I feel like Knuckles could at least pull a Zero and break 40% on Sonic.

Knuckles won't be Sonic in a match, period. Indeed, he may outperform him today but it isn't as if that would be a show of strength.

Shadow as downright pathetic and is maligned much the way Sonic is. I agree Knuckles tends to avoid the sort of hatred those two draw now, but thinking he can beat the series lead? No way. This is another case of Samus/Mario. Samus looks indirectly stronger, but put them head on and Mario rolls.

I think Magus/Knuckles was a big reason for Magus falling. If you look at how Magus fell from 2005 to 2007/8, and compare with Crono and Frog, Magus fell more by a staggering amount. He was projected to 40% on Crono in 2005, though he may have been somewhat overrated. Yet in 2008, it looks like the Sandbag R2 comparison was correct, which places him at 33% on Sonic and even lower on Crono. I mean, even using round 1 Magus, it looks like Magus fell more than Crono, but now that round 2 seems correct (and it's more consistent with Magus getting only 27% on Mario in 2007 too), Magus's fall is just ridiculous.
