Squall
wasn't anywhere near as popular as he is now the further back in time
you go -- and a good chunk of what he has now is owed to Kingdom
Hearts, not just FFVIII. The better comparison would be FFXII, but
FFXIII will almost definitely be a more popular game than that. It's
definitely not going to be as strong as FFVIII out of the gate, I'd be

Eh,
I don't really think that highly of Kirby. I just don't think much of

Lightning
was pretty much built to be the one of the most likable character in
the series. If FF13 is received well here, there's no reason she

I'll
probably give Rikku 45% in the Guru unless I see something that sways
me. It's funny how people are claiming Nintendo-deboost while others
(if not the same people, which would be even funnier) are handing Kirby
the division title. If there's a Nintendo decline, I doubt Kirby is

will do well, yes, and people will inevitably start to doubt Kirby
winning the division...but right now, this division may be closer to a
free-for-all than anything else if Sonic is bombing and the sprite

have to impress tomorrow - something that seems to be impossible for

Vivi or Liquid, whichever! Based on char's stats, Vivi gets 41.50% on Sonic and Liquid gets 42.40% on him. Who knows though. could always happen, but this situation is different. Sonic is starting
to be outright hated thanks to his recent ventures, while Knuckles is
the character everyone thinks of when they think of a return to the

The
fact that Sonic should still be a good bit stronger. Knuckles needs to
not have fallen as far as the others (which I think is possible since
people seem to hate him less), needs to get a bit of that Mega Man/Zero
rSFF magic, and needs for people to simply want that result to happen.

somehow immune. Yeah, I might be a little guilty of that, although I've never handed Kirby the division title, took Sonic, and still think Sonic is the favorite. And actually, Kirby's round 1 performance did make it look like he deboosted, but it was hard to argue that after he beat Sonic. Maybe it just means that Sonic is really really pathetic though and Kirby did deboost after all. When I said that Kirby was on the rise, I was principally referring to how he improved every year from 2002 to 2005, absorbing the strength of the character who'd beaten him the previous year. Also, he's clearly a character favored by the younger generation of Nintendo fans, and you can see this by how he went even in the ASV with Bowser and Luigi after losing the first part of the poll by a few thousand votes.
