prefer to think of that Missingno comparison as more evidence that the
63% Crono is projected to get on Sonic based on Crono/Alucard and

I'm really questioning the Ganon>Sonic hype. I don't trust Bacondorf whatsoever. Bacondorf wasn't *that* much worse against Luigi. If we're being completely fair here.... The vote-in polls were before FF13 came out in Japan. The game's been in the top 10 FAQs since then and I'm sure a sizable (sizable's probably not the right word, but whatever) amount of the GameFAQs community has imported and played the game. --- If you're seeing this sig, I'm not on my computer! |

Seriously,
though, I still don't think Missingno has much of a chance. Crono may
be falling, but he's no Sonic. He can still go toe-to-toe with Vincent,
while I think Sonic would be lucky to get 45% against Vincent. Plus
those 12-way polls aren't gonna be very accurate, of course. I'm still pissed Missingno is wasted against Crono. Missingno has the potential to be a total wildcard, and I don't think he's going to be strong enough to beat Crono. Missingno would've been better tested against a midcarder. --- Not Wylvane |

I wouldn't compare FFXIII hype to Game Fuel, or even TP or Brawl. It's not that crazy. Oh it's certainly not on that level, of course. It's just the same type of thing - the impact of hype is clearly very big on these polls, and this is another instance. For more reference, Lightning lost to The Boss. This means Sonic is failing to double someone weaker than Tails. I'll
say this though: Missingno has a better chance of beating Crono than
Yoshi does, even if both characters' chances are miniscule. 15% in a

Don't
trust that for anything. I'm not really sure how those polls worked,
but there were many-way and had no pictures (Lightning probably relies
on her pic a lot, because most people don't know her name). They mean
very, very little. There were 6 Vote-In polls that SBAllen put up out of nowhere shortly after the nomination period ended. The poll had no pictures but listed the series a character is from beside the character's name. The voters may not know Lightning's name, but they clearly know she's from FF13. --- "Those whose memories fade seek to carve them in their hearts..." "All dreams are but another reality. Lightning
is definitely stronger than The Boss in a 1vs1 poll but Sonic still
looks terribad here. Sonic has gotten above 60% on Dante and Luigi
before. He's going to struggle to stay above 64% against a character
whose game isn't even out in America. This is horrible. --- Demyx is better than Axel. |

Yeah,
it's same sort of thing, but FFXIII not being near the top of the hype
meter makes this look worse for Sonic / better for Lightning than, say,

Yeah,
she had her series listed which is nice, but I'd guess her game not
being out would be even greater a handicap in a 12-way poll. Voting for
Lightning would basically require that you don't like any of the 11
other characters there. Of course, the poll was about which character
you wanted in a contest and not which was your favorite, but still. Also, incidentally, this result is not strange based on that vote-in poll. Lightning got 48% on Axel there, who got 30% on Megaman in 2006, who was about equal to Sonic 2006. like how the US and UK are like the only places that even have Sonic
over 60%. Fortunately that's where most of the votes come from(hell

even worse for Sonic, he's currently doing 6% worse in Europe than
North America. If that holds up, he's really in trouble, although I
think so few people are voting in Europe right now (it's the dead of
night there) that that number could change a lot. Ocelot went from 73%
