Taking Soap to Round 3 is finally looking more sane!

Also, unrelated, but on my bracket my tiebreaker seems to have been reset to 0. It doesn't really matter because my bracket isn't entered for prizes, but is there any reason for that? Or is it because it is a "Just for fun" bracket that's the reason?

Wow, I can't believe the pick percentage was that low among all brackets.

Still, the Ocelot gamble was worth taking for me considering the vast majority of the serious brackets took Red. Can't believe it even ended up that close, I thought Ocelot was completely screwed when he was losing several updates at 4 AM.

That is true. I think Price is much cooler than Soap, but you can make a good argument for Soap > Big Daddy now.

Also, notice the higher vote totals with the board vote today. Yesterday only had 896 and now we have 1211 today. Seems like the casuals are starting to catch onto the fact there are 2 matches per day.

So, when Ocelot gained back 31 votes at 10:02, I just said screw it, accepted defeat, went to sleep and set my alarm to 12:00.

I woke up to see Mega Man X with 95% of the board vote, aaaand Red won. >_>

Good match today. Red did bad enough to stop that silly hype about him being an elite character, but he won so I get some pointz.

Yeah, this. Close enough to be fairly exciting, too.

And while I'm surprised Price is doing as well as he is, I'm more surprised people expected him to be doing that much worse. I mean, < 25%? Doesn't GOTY count for anything?

The -1s did slightly better than the perfects. If you assume all the 0s were trying to get it wrong, they did the best.

Only 11 people fell off the Top 50 today. NEOAd00, Agent666E4, DomaDragoon, soma2035, X_Dante_X, EoinOL, VietBoi4Life, ximaus, pimanrules, ObscureMammoth and psaltery thought Ocelot could beat Red.

I'm thinking this, too. X was behind a ton of SFF last year, and he had to get a vote-in poll to get in. Maybe he's really a dud?

At least Red should give us a good read on X next round since Red = Ocelot.

Yeah that just makes no sense at all to me. I'm more likely to believe X is just no Mega Man.. but Mega Man would have to fall pretty darn low to even have Price be a low mid-carder.

Granted this is the day vote, but still.

Yeah but after seeing Call of Duty in the game contest he really shouldn't be that far away from guys like Big Daddy, Marcus Fenix, etc. Yes it's a "big game" outside of this site but if you put in a serious game poll it'll get owned just like Call of Duty 4 did.

I went with Ammy myself for two reasons.

1. Okami is super awesome and better than anything Shadow has ever been in.

2. Shadow has fallen the hell off the last few years, and Okami surprises me with her strength.

I can see Shadow winning, but I surely hope not.

Now that we've seen Price isn't just fodder, do you think Soap is equal in strength? Price is pretty much the mascot of the CoD series(he's in pretty much every game by Infinity Ward), and you never even saw Soap in the first game(not even in promotional artwork like Gordon Freeman). Price > Soap, but MMX >> Big Daddy.

I knew I should have picked Soap >_<

Seriously, those guys might as well all be Gordon Freeman.

It's also rare a match gets two months of arguing and lives up to the hype. Congrats to those who picked Red (especially KP), and I think all sides can be happy with what happened yesterday. What a great match.

I remember people basing soap and prices strength off mcmillian though, which i always laughed at. He is a freaking joke character 4chan probably rallied in cuz he appears in one level and looks like the swamp thing. Using him to gauge CoD character strength is silly
