Funny how despite all the talk and hype, Pokemon's biggest win in a 1v1 Character Battle is Parappa the Rapper. That's the only Pokemon win in a 1v1 Character Battle. --- "COWARD! Pikachu and Nidoran F are the only Pokemon characters ever to be in a one-on-one Character Battle, so that's to be expected. --- "But you have been given freedom. Freedom to be...outside." "I am lightning...the rain transformed." |

And Alucard's just getting better as the match goes along. He's got a shot at hitting 59% here soon at the rate he's going. --- "Spoil it for me. I'm never going to play that game so I want to know if he's going to be another Auron or another Sin." - Soul about Jecht vs. PW |

lol fourway percentages, but, on Alucard since 2007: 47.78% Ness 44.41% Captain Falcon (with Diddy!) 42.02% Arthas 41.35% Magus (and falling) 40.62% Zidahn --- Mustache...and Green... http://backloggery.com/rpguy96 |

Arthas > Magus? Man, I don't think anyone would have ever picked that. And speaking of something nobody would have expected, I wonder if Alucard might end up winning by 10,000+ votes. --- "Spoil it for me. I'm never going to play that game so I want to know if he's going to be another Auron or another Sin." - Soul about Jecht vs. PW |

I
have no idea what to expect from Missingno...anything above 70% for
Crono is probably good, and the high 60s are probably decent enough. For Froggy...Night!Frog got 36% or so on Ganondorf, so Frog could conceivably push for 40% but high 30's would look good. --- Mustache...and Green... http://backloggery.com/rpguy96 |

paraboxx | Posted 1/16/2010 2:45:31 PM | message detail |
Not
sure I like this night/day gimmick after all. I completely forgot about
this match until like half an hour ago. Missed all the hype... Going pretty much as I expected, though. Well, maybe I didn't expect 59-41...but Magus is just not a smart bet in these contests. I don't think you can say he's been dropping faster than other CT characters, either. Wasn't his only good year 2003? Wasn't everyone from Square overinflated that year? Missed the first match too, but I'm not as annoyed about that. I'm more excited about good matches than just the contest in general, and even with Thrall breaking 20% Link/Thrall was not a good match. Might mean some of Link's future matches will be better than expected...but I doubt it. |

High
30s would look great for Frog. That wouldn't put him too far removed
from what Magus is doing now, and against much stronger competition.
I'm willing to give Crono a pass in Round 1 because Missingo is unknown
and his range is huge. If he gives Yoshi the 55/45 and avoids looking
like ass against Sephiroth, I'd call it a good contest for him. The
only way Magus's CT cohorts can compete with what he's doing is if Frog
gives up a doubling and if Crono is in danger against Yoshi. This is
really, really bad. --- Yoblazer: http://i38.tinypic.com/2s024p4.jpg Watch and you'll see... someday I'll be... part of your world! |

There wasn't much to miss! Heh, the hype before the match, not during. :P I just realized Cid Highwind is in this bracket and he's wasted. I don't know if getting a match against a non-FF7 Noble Niner is a waste. At least we'll be able to gauge his strength a little bit. Now, the Jenova division...that's a waste. |

I don't expect Europe to break 10000 votes in the day match, knowing that it already broke 10000 votes on the night match. I bet Europe will get around 8-10% of the votes in a day match, compared to around 18-20% in night matches. After the first 6 hours of the night match compared to the first 6 hours of the day match, the day match is ahead of the night match by 7782 votes already. The night match had 33395 at 6:00 AM and the day match has 41177 at 6:00 PM. Contest Admin that would take care of the problem, since they obviously
couldn't enter themselves. Being knowledgeable is not a crime. At the
very least some sort of Add/Remove function could be used to move
characters around. I prefer the use of the term "Contest Moderator", as it avoids the use of the word "admin", which has been associated with the fact that a site admin is an actual paid position (moderators don't get paid for their service to the site). If someone was appointed to help out with the contests, they wouldn't be getting paid for helping out. So "Contest Moderator" is a more appropriate term to use, because "Contest Admin" would imply they are being paid for doing their job. --- Luster Soldier --- ~Shield Bearer~ | ~Data Analyst~ Popular at school, but not as cool as KrahenProphet, Guru Champ! |

For
the brackets, I'd be happy if Bacon just did what he did with the games
contest: let the board recommend changes. This contest would be a lot
more interesting with just a few simple swaps. Of course, it'd be better if the whole site could have a vote, like with the play-ins...but I'm not sure how it could be done. "Bracket Switch, Crono-Soap, Yes/No"? |
