Pikachu breaking 60% on Magus would be a lot less shocking. I mean, Pikachu did beat L-Block, put up 46% against Crono, and then 38% up against Samus.

Is this really the same Alucard who lost to a Pikaface that was being dragged down by another Smash character? Can you imagine the board's reaction if Pikachu was breaking 60% easy on Magus right now? I'd probably have to step outside for a long walk.

Since when is Pikachu weak at all? Besides his LFF and bandwagon shenanigans, he blew out Tidus, and I'm pretty sure Tidus vs. Alucard would be heavily debated. That performance was a big reason for me taking Alucard here!

pretty sure Tidus vs. Alucard would be heavily debated. That performance was a big reason for me taking Alucard here!

I would have debated Magus/Tidus as well considering they've been close for a while statistically at least and losing to Sandbag couldn't be as worse than losing to a cube but after today.. it doesn't make sense at all.

How much does Magus score on Gordon Freeman? Maybe...35%.

Wow...if you went back in time to 2003 and told somebody that in 6 years Magus would be weaker than Gordon Freeman they would laugh like nobody's business perhaps. But now...it's all too believable. And maybe Frog scores 40% on Gordon. A character who once went even with Snake losing to a character who was once turbofodder...really something.

Of course, it seems that Gordon has gotten a huge boost recently, from all these comparisons. Did he not get 40% on Samus last contest?

Wow...if you went back in time to after the 2002 contest and told somebody that in 7 years Gordon Freeman would be breaking 40% on Samus they would think that you're mad. But it's happened.

So now we've got three tiers of Noble Niners:

Elites - Link, Cloud, Sephiroth
Midcarders - Snake, Mario
Low end of the stick - Samus, Sonic, Mega Man, Crono

Then again Samus is likely so far ahead of the other three that she might be in a tier all her own. But failing to break 60% on a character who was once turbofodder is really something.

How well does Freeman do on any of the low end Noble Niners? I'd estimate like 35% on Samus and 45% on the other three.

Too much Freeman talk! Now watch as he loses in the first round again...

Enjoy it while it lasts! I think Alucard will be winning in that projection within another half hour at the most.

CTDS probably did boost them a little bit. It just wasn't enough to prevent the bleeding CT does every year.

Well, you'd think high 50s on Magus would be enough to beat Pikachu with Captain Falcon sucking up 20% of the vote. Let's see if the rat can remain a contender in 1v1s, though (I think we're all waiting to see this). He's drawing Solid ****, so he better do well.

Eh, the silver lining (or damage control) of this is that it makes Pikachu and Crono look pretty good, since they beat Alucard last year. Crono's projected to over 62% on Sonic now going through Sonic/Magus and Crono/Alucard.

Yoshi got almost 43% against Brawl-hype Snake (also with poop pic) in 2006, so Pikachu should aim for the high 30s here; that'd be a fine end to his contest. Breaking 40% would be great.

Yeah, CT is dying, dying, and dying. Back in 2002 I'd estimate most of the site came into gaming with the 4th generation of gaming (this assuming that teenagers around my age make up the majority of voters), but now it seems like the 6th generation is the benchmark. Of course, that's when I leaped into gaming too! Except that I had heard of Mario 64/GoldenEye/Ocarina/F-Zero/SSB beforehand, thanks to this one relative of mine.

Alucard breaks 1500. RIP Magus.

Nah, the two juggernaut games on this site are from the fifth gen. Most of the 10-15 strongest games here are from the fifth gen and back.
