Only way this match will be any fun is if one of them doubles the other, or better yet, passes 70%.

Of course, I prefer Ocelot with 70% or more on Red. That would make Red look absolutely abysmal.

BOP doesn't really matter. No one...almost no one expects Red to win big, if at all. It's just one of those matches where the winner is in doubt but everyone just goes with the 'safe' pick.

If Red loses, it'll be disappointing, yeah. Nothing to gloat over. People have been yammering about Ocelot winning for months.

While the opinion of Pokemon has changed over the last few weeks when the bracket was released I was almost thought of being crazy to think Ocelot had a chance. Heck Kratos/Charizard was considered a toss-up by many.

As a Red-supporter, given his big-ass range and GREAT resume of games he's been in, if he can't beat Ocelot, that is shameful. I think we're mostly being conservative because people don't like to take newcomers to go very far, not so much out of respect to this complicated NPC.

The thing I'm telling myself to reassure myself is: what if Red has no strength from RBY at all and he's just the Brawl Pokemon Trainer? What would he get on Ocelot?

And I'd still take him to break 40% in that case, so I figure 50% at least should be safe given that RBY should give him a lot more support than Brawl. Besides, I can easily imagine him hitting 65%. 70% is harder to picture.

I think a difference between SSBB-"Red" and Pokemon-Red that we haven't ever mentioend is that you at least control Red in RBY and fight him in GS. In SSBB, "Red" quite literally is just in the background while you're the Pokemon. I think I can see a bit of the disconnect for Pokemon fans there, but I'm still not going to fault the picture or name if he loses here. It's go-time for him.

Anyway, targets for Crono and Frog:

Frog: I won't be satisfied unless he breaks 40% on Bowser. Bowser should be a fair amount weaker than Ganondorf on whom Frog got 36% last year, with 2 other RPG character. In fact, even 40% will be rather disappointing because there's supposed to be a CTDS boost, although, after this Magus match, it'd probably be considered really good for Frog.

Crono: Similarly, I won't be satisfied unless he breaks 60% on Yoshi. Squall did 58%, so Crono needs to do better than that at least!
