It looks like Uncharted 2 should finish closer to MW2 than DA:O today (42.43% on Uncharted 2 which has 45.2% on MW2)...do you guys think it'll be the same way tomorrow? DA:O is multi-platform and -- though this should matter a lot less than it sounds -- there are three other Square-titles in the poll today. Uncharted 2 may look less impressive tomorrow.

as for Eddie... Eddie is pretty cool, and Jack Black does a great job at uh... being Jack Black, so if people actually have played the game, there's a good shot they'd like him. He's a cool dude and all, but I don't have faith that enough people here have played his game to beat a guy like Ratchet who is at a least more well known even if he's not very popular on the site.

1. Hard to say for sure, Link should score roughly around 53%-55% on Cloud.
2. Fiction, doubt CTDS boost exist.
3. Fiction, Sonic should at the very least score 28-30% on Link. Quite difficult for Magus/Alucard to match it despite it being a night match.
4. Fact.
5. Fiction.Yoshi only managed to get 42.5% on Sprite Snake back in 2006. Pikachu is weaker than Yoshi, 2010 Snake is stronger than in 2006 Snake, it is a night match, Pikachu should have problem breaking 40%.

Answering my own Fact or Fiction:

1. Link scores higher against Cloud than the 53.94% he got in 2006. Fiction. That match was held on TP's launch day, and Cloud should manage to do better than that even if FFVII has faltered recently.
2. Crono breaks 44% on Sephiroth. Fiction. I don't think this is really that crazy, with a CTDS boost and the match being only 12 hours, but it's more unlikely than not.
3. The winner of Magus/Alucard scores the highest against Link until the semifinals. Fact. I think Link will be able to really hit Sonic hard with the SFF hammer, as well as Luigi and the winner of Red/MMX.
4. Cid outdoes Zack against Megaman. Fact. Cid should have no trouble being stronger than Zack, as I say this as Zack's second biggest supporter last year (behind only KH, who actually took him to beat Mario!)
5. Pikachu breaks 40% on Snake with the help of the sprite round. Fiction. Yoshi broke 42% on Snake in a similar situation, and I think Pikachu is quite close to Yoshi in strength, but the Snake/Yoshi match was in 2006 when Nintendo characters were stronger and Snake was probably weaker than now.

This really IS that crazy. Crono will be lucky to break 40%, much less 44%. Even in his best year, Crono wasn't worth that much on Sephiroth. No way he is now.

Sephiroth isn't what he used to be either. Mario scored 44% on him in 2007 with Fox in the poll. Now, granted, 2007 Mario is stronger than any year's Crono, except maybe 2002 because that final week was crazy and it's really hard to figure out much from it other than Link being #1. But if you believe that a decline in day vote power is indicative of a decline in strength, then Sephiroth has fallen since 2007. The 12-hour thing also should be helpful to Crono and harmful to FFVII characters- you're going to see that early vote amplified by the lower votals. It's also the sprite round if you believe that's worth anything.

I don't know what to think about Sephiroth. He's generally looked kinda bad even when not getting pulverized by Cloud...but he's still Sephiroth. Kirby got 38% on him! And then 57%!

Slightly more seriously, Sonic got 36% on him in that Kirby match and Sonic/Crono is a push. Maybe the sprite round helps Crono, but certainly not that much.

Well, if you think Crono/Sonic is even then Crono certainly won't be going for 44% against Sephiroth. But Crono is pretty clearly ahead in 2008 I think- for example, setting Magus = Alucard gives Crono 55% on Sonic. Auron also got 54% on Sonic, and it's hard to see Crono and Vincent being much below Auron.

For Crono to go for 44% here, he then needs a moderate boost from CTDS on top of the advantage he had over Sonic in 2008, and then some overperforming due to the format and picture.

You know now that I think about Crono, why do people like him so much? Must because people love silent heroes. Do you know who else is a silent hero?

Sure Chrono Trigger isn't as strong as Ocarina of Time, but it's obvious that Link gets all of his strength from the entire series, not just one game. Crono has only one game, until now.

With a second game Crono must be twice as strong because 1 + 1 = 2 and two is twice as much as one. Crono for championship. This logic is flawless.
