This poll doesn't make me rethink the Drake match necessarily. This makes me rethink Nintendo matches that I thought were close.

Looks like nintendo will be back in force in 2010 though, Galaxy 2, other M and Zelda wii in october, the Reboost is coming next contest for sure.

Yeah, I expected the PS3 to win this poll, honestly. It's not making me rethink my Boss > Drake pick because this isn't unexpected to me.

Even I expected PS3 > 360 this year. The 360 didn't really have any big exclusives this year besides ODST (lol) and Shadow Complex (downloadable game, lmao) and the biggest news for it was Natal (which will fail) and Facebook and Twitter on Live (hahahahahahaha), while the PS3 did have notable exclusives, but most importantly, that price drop that finally separated it from its "599 USD" stigma.

The only surprise here is the PC beating the Wii, which is pretty ****ing hilarious if you compare the polls of the two games. I don't know if I'd even take The Sims 3 over Punch-Out!!, plus the whole MW2 stigma (though to be fair they also got the best version of DA:O). Then again, PC dominated the Gamespot contest thanks to Valve, and Steam has had some godly deals this year, especially their winter sale where I must've spent $50-$100 on games I'll probably never play.

Saying a system's strength will boost a character is even more idiotic than saying a game's strength will boost a character. 360 and PS3 combined for over 50% in 2008 and 45% in 2007, that means Niko must be a beast!

Nikp's the biggest failure of a character we've ever seen in these contest, I mean his face is plastered all over the game and he actually has a decent personality when you play the first few missions that everyone's probably played.

PS2 beating PSP wasn't that surprising to me. First it has the handheld disease, second very few people prefer it over PS3 and third the PS2 has a lot of blind fanboys.

Niko still defeated Kefka which makes him better than fodder.

Characters like the GTA trio is one of the reasons why I'm taking The Boss > Nathan. I don't see Nathan bringing any more to the table character wise. Of course those I would take those three over The Boss, but I'd also do the same with Nathan.

I'm not counting on Uncharted 2 to do any better tomorrow than it did in that poll...but hey, AC2 improved a lot over a month and Borderlands looked a lot better when it got away from the other shooters, so maybe it can do something in one of the GotY-polls left.

so theres been some debate in the goty poll topic over if we'll get Dragon Age in the final goty poll or not

Think we will? We didnt get original last year, but we also got a bunch of useless polls that were taken out, while original has a popular winner that could make up for only one multi game making the finals... and its not like 10 games is too many.

And if Dragon Age makes it, then that could be a big blow to Mario making the final 3.

At first I thought no since we already saw it lose, but the same can be said about the download winner. Either both stays or both are left out IMO.

Dragon Age would likely take second leaving Mario and Unchated 2 fighting for third.

We've seen the downloadable-GotY make it into the overall-GotY before, the original-GotY miss the overall-GotY, DA:O lose to both AC2 and B:AA which almost certainly won't be in the overall-GotY, and technically FF4:AY hasn't lost to any other game yet. I figure it'll stay the same way it was last year; much like how LBP was skipped and MM9 was added, DA:O should be skipped and FF4:AY should be added.

Uhh, PS3/360 both have much better years lined up then the Wii. Theres no reason to expect Wii to be able to make a giant turn around with the releases next year.

Looks like it. PS3's lead is still slowly increasing on 360 here. PS3's % is dropping though, while the 360 is going up in %.

Nintendo's E3 will also be interesting. On the one hand, they'll obviously unveil Zelda Wii, which should be huge. On the other hand, there has been zero Wii Vitality Sensor talk since last E3. Either that idea has quietly died (good), or it's gonna get 20 minutes from Reggie and Iwata while Cammie Dunaway unveils Zelda (bad).

But Gais The Vitality Sensor will outsell Natal&PS3 motion control making it totally better than both combined, and the PS3 will bomb because VGchartz is the most reliable sales source on the internet and the NPD is more unreliable. Heck Wii music was a total success and wii sports resort was a glorious game because of sales and u haters just don't understand nintendo's genius even though you were playing their games before I was born....

GODDAMNIT, whoever talked about the vitality sensor I now Freaking Hate U for reminding of the STUPID debates I got into with nintendo a 15 year old nintendo fanboy, GRRR urgh, jesus christ, Is it so hard to accept that just because a peripheral sells well or a crappy game sells well enough, doesn't mean it's better.
