People
are jumping the gun way too much over a poll that might only get 60k
votes. Let Uncharted 2 prove itself in the actual GOTY poll before
assuming it has any strength. It is still only a PS3 exclusive, and

franchise
loyalty is a huge plus for Metal Gear Solid. people were into that game
for a good reason - it was a continuation of a series they were devoted
to. if you rename Metal Gear Solid as something else, it gets destroyed
by Brawl. that said, it has strength as its own entity as well. it isn't just blind loyalty, though people bought it due to blind loyalty. --- xyzzy |

wonder how bad RE5 is going to look. Gaming only got cooking in October
this year (not counting Batman), and games from earlier in the year

Big difference between MGS4 and Uncharted. No one is comparing the two. MGS4 made a lot of people buy PS3s. Then again why are we comparing Nathan Drake to Jak? Ask Albion. Anyways, I wish people would stop comparing Uncharted 2 with MGS4. MGS4 would completely embarrass Uncharted 2 in a poll. The reason why I brought up MGS4 is to compare old Drake to new Drake. New Drake will be a hell of a lot stronger then old Drake just because the PS3 is widely owned these days, and more people have been introduced to the Uncharted franchise. We've seen nothing to say that low tier characters in major series get a lot of franchise votes. Again, you're misunderstanding me. When you've got two characters that no one cares about/knows, the more popular character will usually win.
