Based on FFV Twilight Princess would be expected to get 99.85% on Scurge: Hive. For every 666 TP votes Scurge will get a vote.

Makes me wonder if you could make it look worse by throwing in FF12 or GoW.

TP vs GoW final: 71.55%
TP vs FF12 final: 68.49%
TP vs GoW first: 73.60%
TP vs FF12 first: 70.74%

Guess not, since both games did better against TP in the first poll. Though if you compared TP's x-stat value to FF12 and Gears of War in the Games Contest, then you could really make Scurge look weak.

I'm checking GameRankings to see what exclusives the 360 got this year, and it's a much lighter offering than what the PS3 has. I can only pick out three games that weren't on Live Arcade:

Halo Wars
Halo ODST
Forza 3

I'd like to see Shadow Complex make some noise, but ODST will probably wreck.

I'd like to see Shadow Complex make some noise, but ODST will probably wreck.

We've seen stuff like MGS3: Subsistence and MGS2: Substance in these polls before, so I don't see why we wouldn't see Liberty City Stories, especially if there aren't a lot of choices to begin with.

I want Nintendo and Square to collaborate on a massive RPG that ties together all the major characters from both companies. The main protagonist will be Cloud, who travels to various star systems where he is joined by other FF heroes. They discover that in fact all their worlds are ruled by Link and his Nintendo henchmen. Crono won't be playable but will have a very important story role, and Snake, Megaman, and Sonic will also make appearances in the game.

A shockingly high percentage of playable and non-playable characters will end up killed by Link before Cloud defeats him in the end.

Depends on what we mean by 'big,' but some of the notable ones are God of War 3, Gran Turismo 5, The Last Guardian, Halo Reach, Mario Galaxy 2, Metroid. There's actually a good amount of exclusives next year, most of them just aren't from big franchises.

And how was that calculated? Comet Crash had 32 votes at the end of the first hour. Given that the first hour has the highest votals of any hour, you'd have to think Comet Crash wouldn't be able to pull in as many votes in the later hours. And even if you multipled 32 by 24, that's still only 768 right there.

Pretty much, though the MW2-complaints about the servers sound more legit.

Hard to take anything from today's poll. Uncharted 2 looks good here, but we also saw it do poorly a month ago. NGS2 looks terrible, but so have most NG-games. Does anybody have sales on the GoW-collection this year? I don't expect the overall-GotY to be much nicer to Uncharted 2 than the last poll, but today's poll and MW2 potentially having the Halo 2-effect I brought up awhile back gives it some hope back. Certainly nothing conclusive yet.

Didn't Diablo II's expansion pack win PC GOTY?

I dunno what my most stupid pick last contest (only one I participated in so far...) was; probably HL2 > TP, which would happen on just about any other site (though on VGChartz's Top 100 list Twilight Princess was ahead of Half-Life 2...and Metroid Prime was ahead of both of them, and Super Mario Galaxy was ahead of all three of them and in the top five. BAH!). And seriously, I'm still tearing my hair out about KINGDOM HEARTS 2 > EVERY FPS on this site!!! Though on Destructoid's recent list wasn't KH2 40th? On a list that had SSBM 46th, and only one game per series? A list that had Silent Hill 2 > Deus Ex (funny how this is opposite of the x-stats!) and both of them in the top 20, and Okami sandwiched in between them? And (for the umpteenth time) THAT HAD FOUR GAMECUBE GAMES IN THE TOP 20 THAT WERE NOT NAMED SSBM? AND SUPER MARIO GALAXY IN THE TOP 10, BUT GETTING BEATEN BY BEYOND GOOD AND EVIL AND MOTHER 3, AND SHADOW OF THE COLOSSUS AT THE TOP??? (okay, feel free to ignore this rant. It's stupid how lots of gaming sites have extremely different opinions, though.)

And didn't Gordon Freeman break 40% on a Noble Niner just the contest before? Uhm...

Crono definetely wins and either Mega Man definetely has a good shot, assuming that Ganondorf > Yoshi (definetely true). And it seems that the Metroid series is extremely niche and is mostly a fan favorite series, not one with widespread appeal/iconicism. On most sites Samus would most probably be a good deal weaker than here (though on American sites not called Gamespy she could do conceivably well in a character contest), and the Metroid series would be a smidge below CIVILIZATION (sorry, I've been playing Civ4 a lot recently and I wanted to make a reference).

next year Heavy Rain is going to make a killing.
