Too bad this bracket's so cookie-cutter. So much for getting on the leaderboard for three contests in a row.

I know, unless my bracket is a winning combination the only time I would see my bracket is early on since I've made no changes since the first few hours the bracket opened. Even then I would have to get Magus > Alucard, Ocelot > Red and Shadow > Ammy right.

It's not any harder to get on the leaderboard with a cookie-cutter bracket. Just make lots of cookie-cutter picks, like in 2004. Don't agree that this bracket is that obvious though.

I got Cloud > Link right in 2003.........then had Mario > Cloud in the final.

The worst pick I've made is Sephiroth > Magus > Mario > Fox in 2007. Don't even ask what I was thinking!

Well, I did actually predict Sonic 1 one round LESS than I should have in the Games Contest, and I predicted Sonic 2 accurately!

SC2K8: Niko > Altair in round 2, Shadow advancing out of the division, Mario > Knuckles, Ryu > Meta Knight (Stupid Dog!), Alucard > Kratos Aurion

Also had Melee and Brawl win the Game Contests, though I don't think those were dumb and Brawl's dominance got me on the leaderboard. Also had L-Block winning 2008, and I was one of the chumps who went Samus > Mario in 2005. Makes me wonder, have I ever chosen the correct winner for a contest?

2002, I had Fox > Cloud, but I made up for that by correctly predicting Crono all the way to the semifinals. Back then, I had never heard of Dante or Solid Snake, and I figured Cloud and Sephiroth would be chumps! Of course, I had the cookie-cutter Mario > Link final, which I also had for the Gamespot contest.

Other than my two appearances on the leaderboard thanks to WCC and Brawl, and predicting Crono's path in 2002, I don't think I had any other shining moments of brilliance, besides maybe predicting MW1 to be strong in the GameFAQs GotY poll. I've definitely made more blunders than brilliant moves.

I had L-Block winning in 2008 as well. I had Ryu > L-Block in round 1, Crono > L-Block for 3 rounds (don't ask), Link > L-Block in round 5, then L-Block > Link in the finals.

Well, I had Samus winning the bracket in 2006, but I had Cloud > Link, so does that count? I had Link > Cloud last year, though it was Link > Snake. Not sure if that counts either since I only got it half right!

I had L-Block winning in 2008 as well. I had Ryu > L-Block in round 1, Crono > L-Block for 3 rounds (don't ask), Link > L-Block in round 5, then L-Block > Link in the finals.

I had L-Block > Pikachu in Round 3. Yes, I apparently thought so little of Crono that I had him losing to both L-Block and Pikachu!

I don't remember who I chose for 2004, probably Cloud. 2005 it was probably Samus, definitely not Mario. 2006 I'm pretty certain I had Samus, and Series Contest I chose FF like most other people. So I think 2006 was the only year I got the winner right, which is pretty damn sad considering how many times people complain about how FF7 or Zelda always win.

Though I have Link > Cloud this year, so things look prime for Snake to dethrone Link as third strongest character on the site (next to Jay Solano and ? Block).

Also, I took Crono > Sephiroth not once but twice, in 2005 and again in 2006. Crono never managed to actually get to Sephiroth, but strangely enough, I actually gained points from these picks. I lost 8 points when Mario lost to Seph, and then gained 16 points when Snake outlasted him in the Battle Royale.

That doesn't seem as easy to do as you'd think, especially picking going for the Cloud upset in 2003 before going back to Link after FF7 beat OoT so handily, so kudos for that.

Who knows how many times I actually had Link/Cloud meet.

My whole 2007 bracket was a complete mess, but I was completely new to the character battles, so I didn't know what to expect (Sephiroth > DK was my final pick).

2008, I was a lot smarter. I rarely made stupid picks (eg Mewtwo > Travis because of my blind fanboyism). I was actually on the leaderboard after Snake>Cloud, but I didn't take into the account of the bandwagon factor, so yeah, that was actually kind of stupid.

As for the games contest, SF4 > Brawl R2 thinking Pokemon and Galaxy would LFF Brawl. That and I thought SF4 was going to be strong.
