Cloud beat Snake 57/43 before he went crazy, that's a lot of ground to cover. So you must either expect the increase of PS3 ownership will give him a boost in strength or that he will get bandwagoned after defeating Sephiroth without much trouble.

it's possible, If Snake is stronger than than the steroid Snake we've seen last year and Cloud drops like a rock in spite of the well received ACC and Dissidia, sooo VERY unlikely, if not impossible, but you never know.

Any one think sprite Kefka (like the one he got against Wesker in 2005) would give him the win over Arthas?

Comparing Kefka/Wesker between the villains and the regular 2005 contest would give sprite Kefka getting 57% on clown Kefka.

the thing is though, that Arthas is very photogenic. even the best kefka pics would be tough to get the "cool" vote for people who are apathetic to both characters

If Kefka beats Arthas that match will just be his crowning moment of glory, at this stage he's gone from the massive underachiever to almost loveable underdog.

I don't think any picture will help Kefka win this, but I'm at least sure the picture won't be why he loses. He was one of the few characters people were determined to represent well. I'd feel the same way if it were a 12 hour match. Asking Snake to keep a lead over Cloud for 24 hours is asking for a lot. He managed to do it last year, but that was the 4-way format and a situation where he was boosted enough to lead Link for like six hours. I doubt he'll ever be that strong in this format.

With kefka, theres always gonna be some people trying to find the worst picture possible, and Bacon seems to like picking the bad pictures of Kefka if the last 2 years are any indication.

I don't think a Japanese company has ever cared or even known about these things.

Anyway, the realization that Simon/Ezio is a day match saddens me awfully. I'm abandoning the Belmont clan because of it, but I still expect Simon to break 40% with ease.

After this match, I wouldn't have such high expectations. Sam Fisher and Raiden are probably on the same level as Ezio, maybe a bit stronger than him, but not much.

Give Kefka and the FFVI crew a few more years to embarass themselves, and Bacon won't have to rage about that anymore!

Also, it's highly unlikely that Jay Solano would actually lose to Tanner in a match because of just how ridiculously weak Tanner is. You could find 10 characters who appear to have all the qualities necessary for being fodder of the highest grade, as both Tanner and Jay Solano do......and maybe 1 of them would actually be as weak as Tanner.

Snake > Cloud really isn't a bad upset pick if you have Snake > Sephiroth. The gap between Seph and Cloud was only 2-3% points back from 2003 to 2005, and it's probably still around that. If you're taking Snake over Sephiroth, you're already expecting him to get quite close to Cloud, and therefore, you already think he has some chance of beating him. And if you're predicting Snake > Seph because you can visualize a range of possibilities for that match ranging from Sephiroth winning with 55% to Snake winning with 50.5%.......you probably shouldn't be taking Snake over Seph in the first place.

And I guess that means I should take my own advice and switch back to Seph.

man, I haven't even looked at my bracket since like day 3 of the contest and haven't bothered to watch these GOTY polls. I gotta get back into this or my Crew writeups are going to be abysmal.

not much of a surprise about KH taking advantage of a crazy amount of Nintendo in the last poll. also not surprising that Spirit Tracks flopped hard. as for today, Plants vs. Zombies breaking 20% says all you need to say, even if it is an actual good game.

maybe the real GOTY polls will get me a little bit more interested. what's tomorrow, PSP? Dissidia's gonna clean these other games up and people don't even seem to like it that much.

It is a very weak poll, PC exclusives are pretty much trickling out now at a maddeningly slow pace. Most companies are saying "what's the point?" and putting out a console version or making a console version the lead platform. It's just smart business sense unless they want to slash the budget and release it direct to Steam.

this is all part of Blizzard and companies like Zynga's plan for domination, while Blizzard takes control of all PC games with Starcraft and warcraft, the likes of Farmville prove so lucrative that all other companies start making those games instead of big budget games.
