seeing him constantly abuse one of the worst characters in gaming is gold for me and why i like him so much

I would've... well, tolerated FF8 more if Laguna was replaced by Jecht and proceeded to taunt the hell out of Squall. Somehow I don't think Squall would take it as well as Tidus, who constantly *****ed about his father to everyone he could get to listen to him.

Yeah, but Magus has dropped in the same span, and probably more than Knuckles.

Quick: Knuckles vs. Magus, who wins now?

Absolutely, but my whole argument was relying on CTDS to bring him back to within a few percentage points of his 2005 strength.....at least around Frog's 2005 strength. And so, Magus > Knuckles now, after CTDS, purely because of it. Agree that Knux wins by more as of 2008.

its a diablo type game that has gotten some pretty good press. I bought it for 10 bucks the other week on steam and its pretty fun

Hey, if Auron > Tidus, why can't Jecht > Tidus?

Tidus even leeches off his old man by using Jecht's Blitzball moves! Tidus has to steal his old man's talent to not suck!

We should get Yuna's dad in next year for laughs.

Because we had so much information about CT's strength between 2004 and 2008 and that in reality the game only took a two point drop on Link to the Past.

Tidus > Jecht, because Tidus was a much more likable character. Jecht was a horrible father to Tidus, and while he thought he was badass, he only succeeded in making himself look ridiculous. Tidus really got much better about the whining after the first part of the game, and I don't mind the crying at all.

You know what gimmick we should nominate next contest? A character who spends the entire game dead. Right from the beginning until the very end, never alive, never see their ghost, nothing. Just a character who is constantly referenced, has a picture and everything, but is completely dead. No zombies or undead ****, no dialogue, not even a scene with them.

I wonder how such a character would do.

THEY ARE NOT THE SAME CHARACTER. It's bad enough that people proposed giving him Jecht's picture when he first appeared. It would be like using a picture of Pazuzu to represent Regan MacNeil from The Exorcist*. They are clearly two different characters. Just one is possessing the other.

*Ignore the fact that the AFI randomly considers her a villain for some reason.

Speaking of Riku, are there still many people taking Captain Falcon over him (I know there were some)?

Unless you think Captain Falcon is anywhere near as strong Nintendo as Yoshi...or as strong as Ryu H...well...

People's main argument was that Riku looked bad last year and Falcon was held back by Nintendo.

While Riku did look bad last year, I don't see any real reason for him to drop much, so it might be more likely some weird factor. Doesn't he seem to do better in 1v1s?

Whereas...Captain Falcon got tripled by Crono. I don't see Riku getting beat that badly.

Well, Sparda and his wife (Dante's mom) from DMC come to mind. We see people take Sparda's form but we never see the man himself and he has NO quotes/character development. Given the DMC factor and his awesome design and sword, he'd do alright....
