yeah,
but surely after this long, his fanbase have seen that little clip,
they've seen Last Order, and a big bunch of the GFaqs FFVII hardcores
have probably played CC as well, so exposure surely can't be a problem
anymore. He must have been fairly popular before for CC to have been made in the first place right? --- Shakes Fist! |

As
for Zack, his performance against Mario actually was quite consistent
with his other matches. He got 30% on Link twice, once with 2 neutral
opponents and once with a Square and a Nintendo opponent. Then he went
up to 34% with Triple LFF. For Triple LFF, he didn't even move that

Well, there's a difference between people knowing Zack and people liking
Zack. You'll get some people who will tell you he was their favorite
character in FFVII before Crisis Core, but these people are way away
from the norm. FFVII alone definitely doesn't get Zack to almost beat
Mario; it doesn't even get him into the contest. Crisis Core is
definitely what gave Zack his fans, and given that nearly half the site
owns a PSP and the game sold upwards of 800k in the US, I don't think
it's stretching anything to credit most of his popularity to the game. --- the journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step |

For Triple LFF, he didn't even move that much. 30% on Link is a very big deal. 30% on Link is about Aerith level. Or at least at one point. Who knows where Aerith is anymore. the
only iffy bit about Zack is if his 4 ways strength converts well in the
1 vs 1 format, who's to say he didn't benefit like Pikachu or MC did,

Worst year for them is going to be 2010, when Sonic loses to Lightning, Crono loses to Missingno, and Mega Man loses to Cid! If 2 of those happen and the third is struck down EMPHATICALLY, I'll be happy. Zack is real. He's an integral part of the FFVII story. Voters aren't stupid, and if they don't know the FFVII story well enough to know who Zack is, they're probably not fans of the game in the first place. Besides, he's Black Haired Cloud. Okay, I better shut up before I go on a Mario > Samus style rant about how obvious Zack > Wario was. just saying if Crisis Core was never released I'd still take Cecil over
him, even seeing what we saw last year where Zack tripled the fool.

I know that but in that first round I'd expect Solid to put up what 52

Zack's
popularity is definitely because he's black-haired Cloud. Being in
Crisis Core undoubtedly helped him somewhat, but he breaks the fodder
line regardless. Crisis Core was a popular PSP game sure, but nothing
more. And nobody liked Zack as a character prior to Crisis Core. Or if
they do, they are statistically insignificant. His screen time is only

I feel dirty drinking from this can with an orc on it. Arthas could benefit from this new GAME FUEL, but it ain't helping the Chief again. Since it's been about 6 months since this new GAME FUEL hit the market, it's probably been discontinued by now. I'm
taking Yuna > Zack, but this will be a good match. I don't really
think it'll be close though despite probably being close in indirect
strength, no matter who wins. Either the theory of Zack's fanbase from
the original FF7 being fairly shallow is true and Yuna's major
presences in FFX/-2 will overcome his fairweather fans, or the theory
that people will vote for nearly anything from FF7 is true and Zack
will overcome her like he did to Cecil and Zidane. I think Yuna just in FFX would beat Zack just in FF7 though, and FFX-2 was a bigger game here than CC:FF7 despite the hate. I don't know how Yuna from FFX-2 compares to Zack from CC:FF7 (I'd like to hear more on this), but Yuna's been a major playable character in two console FF-games. Zack's the star in one, and it's for the PSP. It's clearly done a lot for him, but I've brought this up before against other characters: how strong have our handheld-only characters ever been? Phoenix-n-Edge, Isaac, Layton, Fawful, Agent J, certain Pokemon...I figure Zack could beat them without FF7. That said, he's borderline in that handheld-only category, so their track record is pretty poor for contest strength.
