it basically guarantees that whoever the Guru winner chooses will get

jak is getting those handheld games so maybe support from there? --- Shakes Fist! |

Oh, and this essentially confirms that Bacon did
tweak with seeding to some degree. He said Jak and Ocelot were the
least nominated characters not in the vote-in, but they're 12 seeds.
Prinny, Ellis, Wander, and Ken apparently got more nominations than
they did, but still ended up as 13 seeds. --- "The great GF...Bahamut." "...GF? I...? Using my powers...It is you humans...I fear..." |

From: transients | #259 Well, that was back when we had only 64 characters. Basically, Jak and Ocelot were #99 and #100 with 196. Of course, we don't know how many nominations previous contests had. --- "The great GF...Bahamut." "...GF? I...? Using my powers...It is you humans...I fear..." |

do know this contest had about half as many nominations as last year
though, so..take that as you will. So we got to see the top 172 most
nominated characters this year then, with the two tied at 99th getting
196 nominations... ...our non-Guru/NRT rallies better step up from here on out then. --- T E A M C H O C O L A T E http://img269.imageshack.us/img269/7355/64590879.png |

From: voltch | #268 A lot of NRT supporters are Guru people so the numbers would overlap, but yeah, it'd be well over 200 in all likelihood, assuming someone the board likes wins the NRT. --- "I can set you free, mate." "My freedom was forfeit long ago!" |

heck, imagine if the guru choice won the NRT. the nom numbers would be huge. I don't think a guru choice would be able to win the NRT. and
maybe not have the guru win the NRT, but like i dunno have the NRT host
plug in and say please also nominate X character if you still spots
open for it or something like that, though in that case it could really
overseed a character. --- Shakes Fist! |

this
12 hour thing is going to wreak havoc on our usual board contests.
there is no way Moltar is going to have time to post two sets of
writeups a day, for example. the Oracle is pretty much automated, but
I'm not sure how the Guru works. I think that's why we haven't seen too
much there. I think the biggest problem for the Oracle will be people keeping up with their predictions. Lots of people make their predictions the day before, now it's going to require more advance planning to keep up. No, we need MWC on the crew. He's the funniest poster around (or at least, the one who makes me laugh the most), and his contest opinions already manage to generate a lot of attention. If that's the criterion then Ertyu should totally be on the crew. (I would seriously support that idea) --- I made a living on time trial blowing myself off to cross the finish line at ludicrous speed. -transience |

Magus actually looks better to me in that picture. But then, I prefer

graphics to TP's. --- 6 years later, Crono's quest to defeat Sephiroth -- Round 1: Missingno 'Till shade is gone, 'till water is gone, into the shadow with teeth bared.... |

From: red sox 777 | Posted: 12/18/2009 8:40:41 PM | #281 Freaking hardcore agree on both counts. I love FF7 to death and like it as a game way more than OOT, but... come on. Few thoughts: - I mentioned this a couple of topics ago, but splitting the Analysis Crew into 2 groups then taking the top half for the last 2 rounds would be a great way to keep the workload down - I've been thinking about Revan/Terra, and I think I'm going to go with the upset in Terra. Something about Revan just screams "turbofodder" to me. No way he's anywhere near HK-47, and Terra has reason to boost (Dissidia). --- http://fc03.deviantart.com/fs14/f/2007/020/b/f/Ariel_by_lolita_art.jpg |

I've
also been thinking a lot more about the Soap/Geno/Ness fourpack, and I
think Soap has a really good chance of taking that. I think a lot of
people are expecting him to be the next MacMillan, but that's faulty
logic given that: a) MW2 is 10 times more popular than CoD4 b) Soap is a major character in both games (one would argue THE main character) as opposed to MacMillan's one-shot Ghillie-suit appearance c) CoD4 proved itself to be pretty damn strong d) lol big daddy/ness/geno --- http://fc03.deviantart.com/fs14/f/2007/020/b/f/Ariel_by_lolita_art.jpg |
