Well, if he goes strictly by nominations...Hey, how did the characters in the vote-in get seeded based on performance? Didn't he say that the final 28 were chosen by the vote-ins? That doesn't make sense. That doesn't divide evenly by 6. Where did those characters end up in the bracket and what place did they end up in the vote-in? Hmmm...

Four were seeded as 13 seeds while the rest got the three bottom seeds. It looks like he took the order by percents they got.

Man, if that's the way it was.....Crono was the 3rd 4-seed from the bottom, which means if he had just gotten a few more nominations and been the 4th or 5th 4-seed from the bottom, he could be in Mario's or Sora's division. So....close.

This was a triumph.

Sora's last 1 v 1 performance was 45% against Mega Man, and he seems to get a little stronger each year while Bowser does the opposite. Easy choice.

Hmmm...This confuses me, looking at it. Thrall is the 16 seed facing Link, which means he should've been the last one in, but he beat Marth on the same day (who's a 16 seed against Sephiroth, the theoretical overall 2nd 1 seed). Maybe once they got in, he went by their nominations instead of their order...?

5th place characters on a vote-in day who missed the cut are KOS-MOS (8.66%), Wario (8.07%), and Scorpion (9.09%).

Is there any way at all Bowser upsets Sora, by the way? I know Bowser has looked like crap in 4ways, but his last three 1v1 contests have all been okay.

Bowser in 2004 had Guybrush and then SFF-fest against Mario. Not a great contest, but it was before the site shift.
Bowser in 2005, yeah, I think we all know what happened there.
Bowser didn't look so great in 2006. Here's how I like to look at it:

In 2006, Sora got 45.72% on Mega Man. Bowser got 42.56% on Crono. Mega Man and Crono were essentially equals that year.

If you want to say Sora overperformed on Mega Man because of his 1 seed, that's fine. You just have to remember Sora's the 1 seed here as well.

Wait nevermind I just put the vote-ins in order and it doesn't fit, Liquid should be a 14 while Big Daddy is a 15 and the 15/16 seeds are messed up.

Taking a closer look to find a relation I can say that...

- The four best performances got the 13 seeds.
- Despite performance the four polls where fifth place qualified took a 16 seed.
- Also third place and higher can't get lower than a 15 seed.
- Big Daddy and Liquid Snake should have been switched, Liquid beat him yet got a lower seed?

Link/Thrall: 12:00 AM (night of the 14th) - 12:00 PM (midday of the 15th)
Alucard/Magus: 12:00 PM (midday of the 15th) - 12:00 AM (night of the 15th)
Red/Ocelot: 12:00 AM (night of the 15th) - 12:00 PM (midday of the 16th)

Red/Ocelot is a weekend night match, which would negate a lot of Ocelot's advantage there.

9 am to 12 pm on a weekend is basically a weaker version of the ASV on a weekend. I'm looking at Alucard/Liquid/Ness, and Ness started cutting around 9 and stopped pretty much on the dot at 12.

Still not as advantageous as a straight-up day match, but it's much better than a vanilla night match. I'd actually say Red has the timezone advantage on a weekend night match.

since no one posted in my topic (admittedly it's been minutes but still)

Okay, so basically I used to be really good at predicting. I had a pretty good idea of who was where based on stats and I knew a ton of obvious stuff. Now, not so much. I basically threw away the x-stats with the 4-way format and thusly I am quite rusty at this. Stats guys, help a playa out.

(8) Alucard

(9) Magus

Seems like Magus should be able to win this. I have him advancing at this point. He's always had the more popular game, and yes he has completely **** the bed before but his game has been ported to DS and that should help him out as Alucard gets further and further from relevancy.

(3) Luigi

(14) Meta Knight

This seems like it oughta be obvious, but I think whoever wins this match gets all the way to Link... I have Meta Knight right now, but no doubt someone will be able to tell me why that's stupid.

(6) Zack Fair
vs.
(11) Yuna

hail black haired cloud. But seriously, I have completely lost scope with Yuna's strength, and I'm sure the last character battle will obviously have me overrating black haired cloud. I have Zack picked right now but I am very much on the fence with it.

Arthas can beat Kefka, right?

Knowing Jill, this match will be ridiculously close either way. Jill wasn't very big in RE5, but we've seen what happens to GTA characters as they get further away from their game. I haven't played GTAIV at all, so I don't know how much of a lasting impression Niko leaves, and of course it doesn't take much to get me to pick Jilly V.

Another match that probably seems really obvious. I can't seem to recall how well/bad Roxas did the last time he was in, and at the same time I can't really put my finger on how the TF2 people will do. Ugh.

Every person that I've seen who is a big fan of FFX is also a big fan of Jecht, so I can't see Jecht being all that weak. We've been over this with Phoenix before. He will forever be known as the man who ruined GFNW. Seems like things should be in his favor but I've got Jecht.

Shepard is the main character through Mass Effect, right? If not, how big of a part does he play in the game?

I can remember my bracket getting blown to hell by underestimating Fenix and overestimating Zero both in the same contest. I'd like to avoid doing it again... I have Zero here... is this a mistake?

This one is really bugging me. Having played neither game, I don't know which one is more relevant. I'm pretty sure that Bioshock 2 is releasing FOUR DAYS before this match is held, but I don't really know how big of an influence that will have, or if this match will be close enough for it to even matter. That said, I cannot possibly see a ****ing Modern Warfare character doing well here...
