That's
actually one of the best arguments for his strength. Because he's not
really part of an ensemble cast- the pokemon are. And if the pokemon
can do as well as they do despite being part of the biggest ensemble
cast we've seen in a contest- the main character, the one and only main

Except
the main focus of the game is the Pokemon themselves. So Red (and Oak,
Gary, Gym Leaders etc.) are more of a secondary character. Who cares
about humans in the Pokemon games? If he was called Ash, he might have
a chance, but he's "Red". Most kids probably named the character Ash or
themselves. When people were hyping Red up at first, I thought they

Ocelot
probably loses a little more easily to Pac-man than he did the last
time. I don't know what the hell happened to him with MGS4 but it

think the best argument to make Ocelot look good is 'Cloud SFFd Jill in

Once again, realistically, do you think Charizard would have a prayer against Pikachu or Mewtwo? Maybe Pikachu in a weird 1v1 situation, but against everything else, who gives a damn? Well
real men used Wigglytuff but that aside. They're totally out there and
I've met them-- heck I kinda am one of them. Look at the Pokemon
merchandise. They don't just randomly pick Pokemon and say "we're gonna
force feed people this Pokemon." Aside from the ones that have been in
a contest, Jigglypuff is definitely one of the top few. --- No problem! This is a cute and pop genocide of love! |

I already think Charizard is stronger then Mewtwo, and if Pikachu still gets anti-voted to hell, Charizard has a shot against him as well (although it's unlikely). Charizard is more popular then Mewtwo in the anime, in the trading card game (the original, AKA the only one that matters), and they're both about equal in the game (Charizard being the defining Pokemon of Pokemon Red and the one most picked at the start). He also doesn't have the stigma that Pikachu has of being forced onto you by just about everything. --- Good Times, Great Memories |

funny you should say that KP cause Jigglypuff actually did best in
North America and worst in Oceania/Asia in the vote in poll. Who 'doesn't know the Pokemon fanbase' now. (Granted you could say it got 'sffed by Lightning' or whatever but still-- if it were more popular there you'd think it at least stay on par) --- No problem! Charizard might have been the most popular Pokemon of all when the series was the largest thing in kid-dom. As ngirl says, he was the most popular starter, he was THE card (I'm glad he wasn't just THE card in America, but Europe as well), and he was arguably the most popular character on the cartoon. I've got him over Kratos, and I'll have to hear some ridonculous arguments to change it. I think he's one of the best characters to upset Kratos. I differ with the Pokemaniacs on Red, though. He had a large range; losing to wario was totally possible Not if you knew anything about Wario. People totally underestimated how much that guy sucks. It wasn't obvious because Zack was strong. It was obvious because Wario sucks. Ocelot probably loses a little more easily to Pac-man than he did the last time. ...Why? I don't get this nor do I see any reason to believe it. Let's not go all Mario/Samus Ulti-style with this one. But it really was that obvious. I couldn't think of a single good reason to pick Wario. You knew Jade was only gonna get 5% of the vote, which meant that Wario had to get near 35% to win. Throw in the fact that you knew Cecil was going to suck, and you knew Wario was going to need 40%+ to win that match in all likelihood. I didn't trust Wario for 40%. --- "Stay with me until the end.
