Albion: I think this is a case where "lol x-stats" applies.

KP: I like Red's placement. I've got him over MMX right now, and he should do as well as pretty much any Nintendo character can do against Link.

Kirby face Sonic in the day while Ganondorf fights Sonic at night. Kirby will need to be a fair bit stronger than Ganondorf to win if Ganondorf can't do it.

Crono isn't a top 10 anymore. Yoshi is top 20

And then use Cronos worst time vs. Yoshis best time, and you can easily get a toss up

I'm going Yoshi myself

Okay, let's look at this.

Time | Crono | Bowser | Demographic
EBV | 58.50% | 41.50% | (0:00-0:05)
PHV | 60.76% | 39.24% | (0:00-1:00)
FNV | 62.11% | 37.89% | (1:00-6:00)
BSV | 55.17% | 44.83% | (6:00-9:00)
DSV | 54.72% | 45.28% | (9:00-14:30)
ASV | 56.88% | 43.12% | (14:30-22:00)
SNV | 59.47% | 40.53% | (22:00-24:00)

This is a fair comparison. Bowser and Yoshi are roughly equals, at least for the purposes of this argument. As you can see, although Bowser makes great strides during the day, he still doesn't come anywhere close to actually gaining votes on Crono. Yoshi will be about the same. And yes, this match was on Saturday, but weekends don't change the results. They only affect the trends a little.

Oh, and whoever mentioned that 12 hour matches will mess up the trends is right.

Actually, after thinking about it, people are being sillier than I thought.

How many matches have you seen finish more than 2% off where they were at noon? 3%? 3% is approaching Master Hand/Kuja levels....This day/night thing isn't going to change the results of any match further than 53/47 or so, and that's a very extreme case.

I doubt Revan's strong enough to beat her soundly. I don't think HK-47 could beat Terra by a lot, and I have my doubts about Revan being any stronger than HK-47.

That match kinda worries me, honestly. I've got Revan, but I can see it going the other way.

It was around the time his day vote became ultra abysmal (Captain Falcon did to Crono what Axel did to Mega Man, basically) and when he lost to Sonic.

Snake/Seph could be the match of the contest. We haven't really seen Sephiroth crack foos in years, and Snake has been biding his time, getting stronger, all for this.

Also, let's keep in mind that the day/night disparity in this contest shouldn't be as extreme as previous years. People can vote again, and thousands will do so every day.

Albion, Crono isn't that weak, and there isn't that much of a difference between day and night. (Plus, Crono gets to skip out on his worst time, the dead zone, while a good deal of his early vote will probably just migrate to the new early vote in the afternoon).

But if you really think he's no longer a top 10 character, and/or the time will make a huge difference......your loss.

but then you realize that especially with stuff like the ASV, those kids always wait till after they get home to vote when they could have voted earlier... so they likely won't vote at all in the night match

Which is why I think night characters might have a small advantage here. It's easier to imagine night owl voters finding time to vote during the day than the ASV voters voting at night.

Well, one match I pulled at random, Zelda Vs. Terra. Would have Zelda winning with 77.32% if it was a night poll, and winning with 81.30% if it was a day time poll. That's a whole 4%.

Granted, the trends should be messed up a bit but no use trying to argue about something we have no use of predicting there. But as it is, a 4% swing in major cases is plenty.

That's an insightful observation. We might see more night voters voting in both matches while more day voters vote only in the day match.....which would mean:

1. The night matches will get fewer votes.
2. Day characters will be hurt worse if they get put in night matches than night characters in day matches.

I meant the difference between the day poll results and the overall results, which are probably going to be right around 2% in that one.
