Although last year, Tifa stayed reasonably close to Kratos despite Seph in the poll. I'm giving it to her for now, though I might go crazy later on.

What if he got a Naked Snake pic and the night vote? Damn, that's a scary match.

Night = Higher seed is odd
Day = Higher seed is even

Assuming of course the highest seed advances. This works until the finals of the divisions

Tifa didn't do that bad against Samus during the day, so Gordron needs a day vote as strong as Samus' in order to win.

Phoenix may well go to round 3 if Jecht bombs, which I fully expect him to.

Jecht BARELY appears in FFX, as much as I like him, and Phoenix could probably put up 45% on Tidus. Unless Dissidia gives Jecht a freaking huge boost, I don't see him doin well. At all.

I'm just glad Ike, Neku and Isaac will probably finally win matches, whatever happens.
Spark Mandrill | Posted 12/15/2009 12:47:12 PM | message detail
Oh man, this is so my contest.

Ike stomps all over the guru nom.

Charizard tears L-Block in half in round 3.

Truly a bracket made for me.

the way i see it, day vote matches will get maybe 50% more votals, just because a big portion of the night crew will vote a second time, so i'd still allocate a fair % of night power to those guys.

I think this match will get a lot of discussion. Characters who'll get willed by their ultra-devoted fanbases (Phoenix) could end up stronger when they only have to hold for 12 hours. I might go with PW here.

Jecht/Phoenix is guaranteed round 3, nothing more

Though I like Jecht there since I've always felt Jecht would be the 2nd strongest FFX character though never given a chance. Finally time for him to shine and make a joke out of his worthless son

Nothing funny about it. In 2006, Phoenix put up 42% on Gordon Freeman.

The series is literally three-four times as popular now than it was then. I'd take Gordon over Tidus any day, so put two and two together.

I'm surprised that no one has brought this up yet, but...

Zack/Yuna, I think this could be a really good match. Remember, Yuna basically matched Aerith against Zelda in 2006. It all depends on what you think of Zack relative to Aerith, but I doubt the difference is huge.

But of course, when in doubt, side with FFVII is usually a good philosophy.

The main thing that makes me mad at this bracket is how wasted so much of Sephiroth's division is. It wouldn't take too much finagling with the seeds to have Vincent/Tifa, with the winner taking on Crono. That would be enough to make the division decent, or maybe even great.

I'm going with Zack, but I have no faith in him. He's good, but is he good enough to match a proven good midcarder? Sure, he looks like Cloud, but does he have SFF power?

Roxas' day vote hasn't been as potent as Sora's or Axel's in his two matches. Plus, I don't think Roxas is strong enough anyway.

Kefka/Arthas (at night)

I'm easily going Arthas here, and even though I'm biased, Arthas is best at night as well, and he's just plain stronger then Kefka. Especially cuz mid january is when he'll be opened up as the final boss of Wrath of the Lich King to finally be fightable

I'd also take Gordon over Phoenix Wright any day too.

So would I, but I'm not saying Phoenix would beat either Tidus or Gordon. Just that he could easily put up 45% on the former. And I highly, highly doubt Jecht has 90% of Tidus' strength. He's barely in FFX, most casual voters won't care about him even if they'd played the game, while Phoenix has SOMETHING of a casual acknowledgement due to being all over the internet.

Day characters during night matches, or Night guys in day clashes?
I'll say the day crew is going to suffer the most because their fanbase will be sleeping, while for the day matches, most of the night voters better still be awake.
