GameFAQs Contests

Contest Stats and Discussion - Part 762

It seems that the bracket has traditionally been released around 3 or 4 pm PT, which makes sense considering that it would be one of the things that SB does last at work. I'm expecting it to happen around the same time today.

I used to have a good sig. Now my account is only a shadow of its former glory.

Earlier today I was figuring the bracket would come out tomorrow. SB's rarely VERY quick about the contests and given that we're getting a new format he may want an extra day or two to sleep on it. Still though, it's bound to be pretty soon given that nominations closed last week, he's had the new format-idea for awhile, and we had almost a week of the vote-in polls. Assuming he was being efficient and planned the rest of the bracket possible while we did our vote-ins (not guaranteed), that would leave only a little bit of work left that was probably finished today. Sleeping on it before releasing the bracket might be wise.

It better be soon though, considering SB's already ****ed up the whole "annual" aspect of the Character Battle.

Man, I refuse to believe Yuffie and Gilgamesh didn't get enough nominations to make the opening phase.

Maybe they just circumvented the whole thing...!

So, for what it's worth.

The BGE2 bracket is wiped clean, which I assume means Bacon's working on this one.

because I assume he's always close and if he's not even in the polls then I think he's probably in

like i have tough time believing that someone like Maxwell or Alex Mercer got more noms

I don't see Gilgamesh getting that kind of support he would have to go from missing the bracket to being around the middle with nothing.

I always see him as getting more board support than anything.

I think Gilgamesh got screwed the past two years because of an unspoken cap on Final Fantasy Characters, which makes sense.

This year, I didn't really bother rallying for him because I was under the assumption the same cap would be enforced, but it looks like it might not have been. Oh well.

FFT is regarded as a spinoff series, or at least it can be. That was why it was able to get into the first Games Contest despite being in the same division as FFVII.
