I only like one of those four characters so I'm only going to vote in one of those polls. Wait I can't vote until I pick someone from the other poll so I can either randomly pick someone or not vote at all.

Not to mention rallying would essentially become a non-factor.

I'm not convinced some of the characters you have in the bracket as locks are really locks. Like, I doubt Heavy makes it into the contest this year. There are others that I could easily see missing the contest as well.

We had a ton of new characters in the vote-ins... I can't think of anyone else who jumps out as an obvious candidate... maybe Ezio from the new AC... otherwise uh... Sheva? Eddie Riggs? No one seems like a big nomination draw

A lot of them were eliminated from the write-ins and the only other ones that I see getting in are the ones that were added in the two updates, Ezio (he was added at the beginning and his game just came out) and Charizard.

So assuming top 6 in the write-ins, the only new characters we'll get are...

Fix the seeding? How so?

Yeah, I'm thinking most of the new characters we'd normally see were weeded out in the play-in round. And frankly if that's the best 2009 had to offer, good riddance. (Except for Bayonetta, who I'd still have liked to see get a match near her release date.)

I consider Heavy to be "the face" of TF2, so I figured he would have out-nommed Spy. Same for Captain Falcon and Magus, who I can't see having been THAT far behind Lucas/Frog. Altair I can't see missing... yes he was overshadowed somewhat by that new guy, but dude was a #2 last year and performed quite well- no way he fell to below a #18 to not even make the play-ins.

The dedicated fanbases for Ammy and Wesker probably have them safe. I'll agree that Sackboy/Ramza/Cecil/ could easily have missed, however. Tough to peg those guys.

But anyways, speaking of 3ways... how is the seeding supposed to work for those? Does the #1 seed play the lowest seed (#12) and also a middle seed like a #6? What matchup comes under that one, a 5/7/8 or something?

I disagree. There were 200 000 nominations, if board 8 can get characters in with very little outside support that would mean the higher seeded characters must have gotten a lot of nominations. Even at worst case scenario Altair was the 16th most nominated character.

i never denied that altair would not likely get in.. i just thought he was a possible non lock

though i think there is no way that he gets anywhere near the seed he did last year, like ngamer has him at 4. And its a virtual lock Ezio is getting a higher seed
