Remember
the biggest point of replacing TWEWY with SFIV despite having little
board support was that it made a more interesting match? I can't think of a single add-in replacement of ours that actually ended up being a good idea. --- KrahenProphet lived up to his name. |

don't remember what people were thinking, but no one should have been
confused or dumbstruck at how SF4 performed. I took it to win there
solely because the other games were kinda crappy and I was hoping maybe
GameFAQs would get one right, but a quick look at the 'did you buy SF4
poll' should have told everyone what they needed to know. Maybe the
fact it was so close to Persona 4 was cemented how much it bombed, but

Let's see... Deus Ex for Panzer Dragoon Saga may be the only one. And even then it didn't matter. Golden Sun for Fire Emblem looks really bad now that we know GS may actually have a fanbase on this site. SSB for Soul Calibur? What were we smoking? people just have a very broad definition of what "emo" means, I guess!
Of course, by that definition, anytime anyone gets upset, he's emo! Which means nearly every character ever created is emo! I.......understand now. That is why silent protagonists do so well. fact that it didn't place wasn't terribly surprising. GTAIV wasn't
great, but it wasn't completely awful either like it might have been.
But you said something else entirely - that the fact that it nearly

I wasn't talking about at the time so much as I was talking about now,

Didn't
this topic spend about a day ridiculing the people who thought Persona
4 had any chance of beating SF4? Or was that Tales of Symphonia..... And come on.....Persona 4 is a niche JRPG that was always going to be really weak. you. What we think now and what we thought then are two different things. We weren't expecting much from Street Fighter IV, yes, but only the few Persona 4 fans (who were only joking and didn't actually mean it, lol) thought that those two would be close. Especially since the writing was already on the wall as far as Pokémon was concerned. Only 5 games got over 50% in a match outside of the 4 games in 1972-1988: FFII (IV) in what was basically a 3 way thanks to Crystalis LttP FFVII CT OoT And say what you like about MM, it's still a mainline console Zelda game, it got 39% against MGS with 2 Pokémon games in the poll when we expected MGS to be a top 10 game. And RBY trashed it. But creative was fiercely ant-RBY throughout the contest and refused to believe until it beat SSBM IIRC. --- I loved every moment of that run. |

is always good, for those who don't like text to image you check one
link on a different tab, stops me from getting scarred by w/e some
random guy has in his sig. I still don't get why sonic 3 didn't get replaced by sonic and knuckles and looking back the TWEWY crowd should have had their moment in the spotlight, non nintendo handheld games would have added to the variety as square do make decent games on the ds/psp. --- Shakes Fist! |

Hey Luster/TRE, did Chunners ever take the lead over Morrigan overnight? When I went to bed she was 38 down She never took the lead over Morrigan overnight. There's
an option in Text to Image under the "other" tab (this was possibly
added by GameFOX) to disable GameFAQs sigs for Text to Image. Very
useful. Also Morrigan actually looks kinda cool in that pic KP posted. --- No problem! This is a cute and pop genocide of love! |

I'm rooting for Tails to pass Cid, though I don't think Tails can hold it off even if it happens. Hm.
I'm thinking about how many more days we're going to see, which got me
thinking about which characters I still expect to see. Marth/Ike (Both probably slipped in nominations with Brawl receding into the distance.) Charizard/Red (Both of these guys could potentially be safe, depending on frontpage support) Ness Probably a few more low tier Brawl guys (Olimar and Diddy did make it, after all). Zack (You could argue he had a high seed last year, so maybe he's safe. But he's another year removed from Crisis Core.) Kefka Magus Terra/Celes/At least one other FFVI character (Shadow? Mog?) Cecil (If Kain was on the bubble, he probably is too.) Seifer/Laguna/Zell? (At least one, I should think) Yuna (Tidus? He could've been a lower seed in WCC/DK/Tidus/Tails, not sure) Balthier Ken/Bison Nightmare? BlazBlue character? (Already saw Scorp/Subby, so we've filled up on MK) Shadow Knuckles? Big Boss? Edgeworth? Tales fodder GUYBRUSH THREEPWOOD Lots of characters from recent games that I don't really care about. (Most notably: Nathan Drake, a CoD4-2 guy, uh, some other big games...) Morrigan. Just to clear things up about this, the picture that Albion keeps plastering around is not the norm for Morrigan. It's a screencap from a 5 second clip in a Dragon Age trailer that's never used in the game or anywhere else.
