Actually, a Mudkip/Sandbag match-up would be absolutely frightening. Indirectly, yeah, I'd pick Mudkip with ease, but against each other? Sandbag's generic design and the popularity of Smash could give him the edge.

Frankly, I'd be more interested in seeing whether the votals would be much higher or much lower than other matches.

I considered Joanna part of Rare, which sucks because she could have won a match...in 2005. The Female Bracket and barely beating BK in BGE2 shows me she would barely be worthwhile even in a bracket like this though -- PD was forgotten sometime quickly after 2005. =/

Here's my new favorite list...of the fifteen post-2000 Nintendo characters, here are the characters who have beaten them: Samus twice, Tidus, Pikachu twice, Lucario, Altair thrice, Master Chief, Mario twice, Banjo, Nero, Mega Man twice, Crono, Kefka, Marcus Fenix, Lloyd Irving, Mudkip twice, Mega Man X thrice, Sora, Pit, Luigi thrice, Scorpion twice, Frog, Cloud twice, Mewtwo, Miles Edgeworth, Bidoof, Link thrice, Ganondorf, Little Mac, Amaterasu, Dante, Gordon Freeman, Duke Nukem twice, Arthas, Marth, Jinjo, Kirby, Big Boss, Sonic, Sub-Zero, and Auron.

That means fifty-six losses in thirty-one matches, people.


Oddly, the only Noble Niners that aren't on that list are Sephiroth and Solid Snake...but that's no fault of their own.

Not seeing the issue there.

It's not that uncommon to see other characters do well besides the rally winners/guru nomination.

In 2007 ten characters were able to at least tie the lowest supported nrt winners.

Phoenix Wright, Matt, Bidoof, Knuckles, Ike, Midna, Fox, Balthier, CATS, Magus.

Robo, Lucca and Ayla..really?
I can see Robo doing modestly well because I don't know robot characters like Kos-Mos and HK seem to do okayish, I believe there's some guys out there who just love their mechanical machines.
but I can't see Lucca doing much better and since Ayla is the last MC you meet well not too much faith for her.

Yeah, FF12 made it in over FFX and there's no major SSB-rep. Also funny that MP and SMG are the top two seeds in their division considering they're the weakest 3D-games Nintendo had in our last contest.

Judging from the one-seeds, they love looking through the first-person perspective!

The Game Trust seeded the bracket and the Game Trust decide who wins in the first three rounds. Doesn't that mean it just boils down to their selected 2nd seed vs 1st seed vs the People's Choice? If they liked another listed game better, why didn't they make it a 1st or 2nd seed? The People's Choice also has to knock out the 1st seed in their division to even make it to the readers vote.

2) MGS2 without MGS3/4?
3) I thought they would have picked different reps for GH and RB.
4) I'm interested to see how Madden '05 does. It's catching a break to face another sports-game by EA first.


I get they're deciding most of the matches by their team's decisions instead of a poll for every match, but I hope they have a "reader's choice"-type of poll for each of them as well

TRE brings up a valid point, it's hard to see the People's Choice ever winning more than a match (and probably not that) and the top two seeds in each division are in a very favorable position if the people who seeded them get to decide if they reach the Elite Eight or not.

Well actually both FFX and FFXII are a 92 on Metacritic so theres no distinct game rated better...

But for MGS series this decade:

MGS2: 96
MGS3: 91
MGS4: 94

MGS2 is without a doubt the best rated
