Well, you didn't say that! But yeah, other than that, no. I wouldn't imagine Bacon will allow more than 5 FFVII characters in a contest, which is what we got last year (Cloud, Sephy, Tifa, Vincent, Zack). So one of those guys is gonna have to get snubbed if Cid's gonna make it, and three of those characters are mortal locks. --- "Hold on a minute! That testimony stinks!" "Witness! not a big Vincent fan, but I don't want to see him get left out. I
don't think a Noble Nine breaker should get snubbed. I highly doubt he

Honestly
I think the most likely to get snubbed if Cid gets in is Zack. I have a
hard time seeing him get the nom support outside of b8 to top Tifa, and

Plus, he still managed to make it in 2006 when we only had 32 males. I think once Vincent got in and was successful, it made it easier for him to keep coming back. Vincent's
too strong for me to want him to get snubbed, but I'd rather have Cid
and Zack than Tifa. If we have 128 characters there's absolutely no

will almost certainly be the one who gets snubbed if Cid gets in and
Bacon's got a FFVII cap. I hope he gets back in though, and I nominated

I'll
say this though: don't be surprised if all the FFVII characters take a
drop this year from last year. FFVII's day vote was good for years,
began to falter in 2008, and took a dive down to CT/FFVI level in the

I think FFVII should be about the same this year as last year. And for the record, only the guys' day votes were good. also has the tendency to screw up trends, but yeah, it's pretty obvious
that FFVII's day vote has begun to falter when Vincent couldn't kill

also wonder if having nearly a year and a half between Character
Battles will deviate the characters much more than usual. Probably not
since we've seen a lot of two-years-apart stats be pretty similar, plus
we don't have well-grounded stats right now...but it'll still be the
biggest gap between Character Battles we've seen yet and during a new

on how much Bacon wants to work between Christmas and Thanksgiving, I
think. But didn't he say something about revealing the format next week
or so? I don't think there'd be a huge gap between that announcement

To change the discussion here are some of 2k8's characters to watch out for. Zack Fair: Is he a step below Vincent/Tifa or was he overrated? Sadly if only five FFVII characters are going to make it Zack may not make it. Altair: He did pretty good, but will Assassin's Creed II help him or not? Mega Man X: He seemed to be on at least Mega Man's level. Gordon Freeman: I have a feeling that people will overrate him in this contest. L-Block: How well will joke characters do in the new format? Ike: Let's see what Brawl has done to his strength. Pikachu: Is Pikachu's strength a four-way thing or will he be strong in the new format? Sackboy: Hype vs. actual strength Chris Redfield: 1st new game in years, how will he do? Nathan Drake: With the PS3 gaining more popularity on GameFAQs and Uncharted 2 he could be just fodder. Man, I missed a lot today. Here's my thoughts. * Red would bomb. Not necessarily fodder, but not as strong as most people expect him to be. He'd be only a couple steps above the fodder line, probably a bit below Alucard I'd reckon. * FF7 strength rankings: Cloud > Sephiroth > Vincent > Tifa > Cid > Red XIII > Aeris > Zack. I have a feeling if Zack does return, he'll be rather underwhelming and surprise everyone by being weaker than expected. Of course, I still think he'll still be decently strong.
