Prinny is kind of the Disgaea mascot, and is a fairly important race of characters in the game (they're like a Pokemon species with distinct personalities, sort of).

I probably would have picked AKI Man or Doc Louis (though I think his numbers are growing just fine without the Gurus...!), so I can't say anything either. It's kinda funny, actually.

Still, he should be pretty embarrassingly weak.

Prinny is a meh choice. Why limit yourself to Laharl when you can have something similar that can potentially reach Tifa level? oh well, just another bad guru pick, but at least we'll know if a non-joke 'race' can get into the contest or not.

And anyway, I really do hope Clinkeroth is retired to a ToC. Too strong for the field, really. A Mario/Snake finals could be good, for instance, but who needs Clinkeroth rendering three fourths of the bracket meaningless?

Mario/Snake's the only big-profile match we need to see happen, though having Mega Man, Crono, and Sonic each face Vincent, Squall, and Auron in any order would be great as well. Mega Man/Auron, Crono/Vincent, and Sonic/Squall would be great.

If Prinny is the Toad of Disgaea, hahahaha...it will be fun to see him lose hard. He'll have to face somebody very weak to stand a chance, assuming he makes it in with this late Guru-nomination. At least it's cute and looks like he could start some board-fun though.....

But we really souldn't be putting pressure on winners to pick someone who might be reasonably strong, they earned the right to see the face of their character/game make it and get stomped, it's just a token place.

yeah, I can see why we'd give Toadette some flack, the character kinda needs to have a fighting chance of making the field proper.
If guys like Rayman and Spyro or crash struggle like hell to make it, even with support obscure ones will struggle, though Prinnies are a mascot and since mascots seem to be getting heavy rallying this season It'll probably make the bracket.

btw when we had to nom toadette was it for a 64 or 128 bracket?

I'd like to be refreshed on the Guru-winners, what contest they won, and who they picked starting from when we started giving them nomination-power. I know EC and Krahen won in 2007 and BGE2, and I know Toaddette, Altair, SMW2:YI, and Prinny have been chosen by our winners before. I think Wario was chosen one year, and I believe FastFalcon won in 2008 though I'm not positive.

Oh right, never mind. I got the Guru mixed up with the NRT in 2006. Altair was EC's Guru choice, wasn't he? Yeah, Toadette was 2006 when we had the female bracket.

Just read that Bacon's switching off of the 4-ways, but for some reason, the thought isn't comforting. He seems like a big advocate of having 128 characters, but I doubt he wants to run a 128 character 1-on-1 contest. Well, he did say it was a never-before-used format. I hope it isn't a tag team contest. I'm trying to think of something else he could use with 4 characters per match, but nothing's coming to mind.
