Aww yeah, Kingdom Hearts day vote

It was already up in first place as early as the night vote. Metroid: Other M bombed with the night vote and it doesn't help that NSMBWii and LoZ: Spirit Tracks are here, possibly hurting it. And Metroid: Other M would probably be in second place over Metal Gear Solid Rising if it wasn't for those 2 other Nintendo games.

So Bacon's gonna do his little side-contest for boards first, which will take at least two weeks, which means no contest announcement at that time. So we'll either wait until late August/early September for the contest, or he may just outright skip it.

The last private board contest took 5 weeks, so that's probably going to happen again. Plus, the private board contest should not be expected to distract him with getting the nomination form set up and creating the actual bracket.

I have to think that Galaxy rSFFs Super Metroid. Anyways, all the SFF being thrown around in the bracket makes things very weird. Half-Life over Galaxy?

Mario Kart 64 > Half-Life 2 > Call of Duty 4? Utter Madness, I tell you! I'm still taking Call of Duty 4 to beat Half-Life 2, since CoD4 got stuck with all those multiplatform games. Then again, its strength being completely subjective like that...

Funny thing is that on Empire Magazine's list, Brawl was 80th, Galaxy was 24th, and Gears was 18th, but look who beats who according to the stats. (also on Game.co.uk poll, Gears was 10th, Galaxy was 21st, and Brawl was 81st).

There would be nothing strange about Mario Kart 64 being stronger than those games.

By the looks of it, Gmail is bombing the night vote here. If Gmail can keep Hotmail under control during this time, it should come back with the late morning and day vote.

What's strange about Kart 64 beating Half-Life 2 and Call of Duty 4 is that the latter two have been named "Best Game Ever" recently at other sites while Kart 64 doesn't even come close. Then there's the fact that this site doesn't care about racing games.

And apparently, despite the critical consensus (based on recent lists, yeah) being that Wind Waker and Majora's Mask are better than God of War, the latter finished ahead of the former two in the x-stats, despite the aforementioned critical acclaim thing and this being ZeldaFAQs. And...

...apparently San Andreas IS the strongest GTA, and Prime IS the strongest Metroid. Oh, and Diablo II is the WEAKEST Blizzard game, despite lasting the longest. And...Wind Waker is ahead of Diablo II?

And Half-Life ahead of Sonic the Hedgehog? WHAT THE HELL??? And...lol Tetris.

And, on a side note.

THE ONLY ADVANTAGE THAT BRAWL OR MELEE HAS OVER ANY MULTIPLAYER GAME IS ALL THE NINTENDO MUSEUM STUFF!!! OTHER MULTIPLAYER TITLES JUST GET THE ACTUAL GAMEPLAY BETTER, AND THEY ARE LESS REPETITIVE!!!

Though multiplayer games in general are more repetitive than single player games.

Of course, there's the fact that GameFAQs doesn't care about any of the main multiplayer genres, so...

Again the top half is underrated since LttP was stuck in LFF/SFF matches and Mega Man 2 is suffering from the same thing Tetris is.

Based on the night vote and early morning vote and how Gmail, Hotmail, and Yahoo did, the most likely result for Europe would be Hotmail > Gmail > Yahoo. Yahoo seemed to bomb the night vote even worse than Gmail, where as Hotmail took full advantage of this for a very strong night vote. Even well before the European voting block arrived, Gmail was struggling with Hotmail and I'm not so sure that Gmail could win in North America.

This is over. Hotmail is up 3052 on Gmail and all Gmail is doing right now is trying to stall Hotmail, with some small cuts.

Thanks for the reply Charmander6000! And...well, if you want to be blunt, all of the Metroids were stuck in SFF situations and therefore don't have true values.

Of course, if there's one thing that's funny, it's that Prime overperformed by 0.06% of Vice City according to the x-stats despite it being stuck in the overrated top half of the division AND being held back by Paper Mario. Of course, it's not like Vice City ended up looking as strong as it did in the x-stats.

And geez. Not only did Paper Mario cost Prime the advancement, but it shouldn't have even been in the contest for the reason that quite a few other games should. I mean, uh, Paper Mario, Disgaea, and Fire Emblem were the worst inclusions in the division. Instead, we could've had Devil May Cry, Gran Turismo 3, Ico, Conker's Bad Fur Day, the Zelda Oracle series (if you REALLY want a handheld game, MUCH better choice than Fire Emblem IMO), Eternal Darkness...

Then again, action adventures and platformers from the generation already don't fare well, so when they sell badly to begin with and don't belong in genres that the site likes...when you're taking two action adventures, platformers, or shooters against each other, it's better to bet on the ones that sold more copies. And Gran Turismo 3...yeesh. The darn thing is coming off of being like 15th in Stuff Magazine's list (when A Link to the Past is 17th, Mario 64 is 18th, Galaxy is 23rd, Call of Duty 4 is 31st, etc.)...then again, whatever.

BTW I'm generally noticing that StarCraft and RE4 are aging badly according to most lists, and that was reflected accordingly in this contest (the fact that RE4 is a top 20 candidate at all is quite cool). On the other hand, the sudden resurgence of seeing Doom, GTAIII, WoW, Halo, Gears of War, and loads of other stuff (I bet) SURE DIDN'T REFLECT IN THIS CONTEST.

Probably because most people on this site were from the hotmail era and it's not like we need that much more storage space/other features. Also with the rise of Facebook e-mail is becoming more or less obsolete.

The point is the trends (shift) match Crono/Vincent. Crono started off winning big, so he ended losing by a little, while Gmail started off winning by a little, and is going to lose by a lot.

Gmail's lead only maxed out at 96 in today's poll. Crono's lead had maxed out at 1146 in Crono/Vincent I and 930 for Crono/Vincent II. With the way this poll has been going, Gmail could lose by over 6000 votes and it's behind Hotmail by 4082 right now.

I think school starts back in some places tomorrow -- high schools in my area usually open the first day they can in August, so...maybe we'll see trends a little closer to the ASV than the rest of the summer has shown.

Today's vote totals for the DSV and ASV:

So far, I see no signs of shifting back to the school day trends yet. On a school day, the ASV would have a lot more votes than the DSV.
