I don't know if FFVII really won does that bring justice to the contest? Both these games have proven they curb stomp everything else in their path, that's the real problem if you ask me. People are exaggerating this victory, it's not like OoT is up 10k or something. So the match wasn't incredibly close or it went against BRACKETS. I don't see how this is some indictment that suddenly "hai guyz this site likes sum Zelda". Wow, who would've guessed?

It's not that OOT is beating FFVII; there's nothing wrong with that really, it's that Nintendo has no real competition anymore.

Of course it will probably lose tomorrow. Doesn't mean we can't hope. As a Red Sox fan, I'm very used to doing this kind of thing. Gutwrenching, heartbreaking, losses will only strengthen our resolve, Nintendo. Sure, FFVII will probably lose tomorrow in a more hearbreaking fashion than today, such as by winning the board vote and then losing, but one day....! (aw yeah October 18, 2004).

Ocarina of Time. There's, like, no question it's the stronger game now. If FFVII wins, I'd say it's due to people shifting their votes, trying to combat Zelda domination, and trying to flip a result 24 hours later, not because it's legitimately stronger. Hell, hold Link vs. Cloud two days in a row, and I wouldn't be surprised to see Cloud do better the second day.

There's also the fact that this bonus match doesn't really count. If it were part of the brackets as a Grand Championship or something, it would be much more credible.

More like "Ocarina already won, let's just goof around." Once again, it's hard to picture it actually changing the result, especially when Ocarina is just rocking this entire day vote, but I can see FFVII doing better.

I can envision this scenario. Nintendo fan opens up Gamefaqs. Oh look, it's my favoritest game of all time, Ocarina of Time! And there's another Zelda game and 2 of those evil Final Fantasy games. Well, I'll just vote for Ocar- wait. OOT is one of the strongest games, isn't it? And we have FFVI and FFX, no VII here. So it should be safe. I've never played LTTP, but.....

Suddenly his Wii system turns on by itself. Brawl automatically starts up. An announcement reads that Link has been redesigned to LTTP Link for the rest of the day.

On the combating Zelda domination thing, you might as well say FFVII is only losing today because of all the people combating its supposed domination. It did have a lot more bracket support taking it to the finals than OOT, so I think most of the site probably really did think of it as a heavy favorite.
