Link/Tanner vs. Cloud/Snake? Link- one of my favorite characters. Cloud- one of my favorite characters. Tanner- completely indifferent. Snake- completely indifferent. So I guess that means if OOT wins this match, I'll be voting Cloud/Snake, but if FFVII comes back, I'll have to think further about this. I'd probably vote Crono/Tanner over any possible combination of 2 characters. --- Link he come to town to win the Gamefaqs Contests. |

From: Lopen | #292 I think a great 1v1 bracket can still be put together with no format changes and no gimmicks (outside of removing Link/Cloud/maybe Seph and doing another tournament of champions thing). We have so many great setups with tons of potential and debate - the best of which being the lower-level Noble Niners (Sonic, Mega, Crono) against the Square near elites that look like they can take them. Also, Snake vs. Mario/Samus would be big, and people would actually care about these. Will never happen, but it's nice to think about. --- Meeks54's sig for a stupid pick that had no chance. solution with this contest is to kick FF7 and OOT out. the battle for
the top would still be Nintendo dominated, but it;'d be damn

The real reason contest have sucked is because Bacon has no clue how to make a bracket. 1-on-1 or 4-way. How about this? Yeah,
Seph has reason to stay. I don't mean to fan the flames here, but the
way he's gone out the last two years and with FFVII losing a step, I
think he's lost that aura of invincibility. Maybe the pasta eater could

Somebody probably already noticed this, but anyway: supdawg is so far ahead of everyone, that even if this result holds, he's still going to finish in the top 15-20 despite getting the champion wrong. Thats pretty crazy. |

This
is very likely going to be our closest final ever, even if FFVII
doesn't come all the way back. 'Twas a fairly lackluster contest, but
the final week and this final redeemed it. Any problems stemming from
this final are much more to do with Nintendo dominance making contests

way I take Seph to lose to not Link or Cloud, but go ahead, put him
back in, the Villains Contest was a cheap way to remove him from the
bracket in the first place. If we're going to keep him out of the main
brackets, let him earn it first, I have no doubt he can do it, but at

This final is cool, but I still want a one-on-one tomorrow for respect's sake and to catch a glimpse of the old times. Given that the match contains two Zeldas and two FFs, with the lesser FFs and Zeldas barely scraping by with 20% of the vote, that would be entirely unnecessary. I'd prefer some manner of joke poll like we've had in years past. And the idea that the last week was laughable. I lost interest in this thing when we hit the quarters. I actually liked when we had a bunch of random trash fodder more. <_< --- No problem! This is a cute and pop genocide of love! |

Well,
every time we think there's a weakness in Clinkeroth's armor, we always
see Sephiroth/Mario, and that kills it. I think Snake has a much better
chance than Mario; he's just stronger. Maybe Samus too, as she's also
stronger than Mario indirectly again, but probably not as strong as

If
Sephiroth is thrown into a contest alone we could see the villain
effect. And with stronger people than Ganondorf around, a Sephiroth

We
don't actually know if that's true or not. Even if it is true, we still
get a stealth 1v1 bracket which a lot of people want to see but you

Not only would it be cool for stylistic purposes, but it would in effect remove some elites from the bracket early to make the field more unpredictable. FFVII
with another 40 vote cut. This time it could be the start of a serious
overnight comeback. I didn't expect it to beat OOT from 2 to 3, I
rather thought FFVII would have been the game to get 49% that hour
instead of OOT. That may have been a bit premature, but we're beginning

Technically Crono is probably on a island for 7th, but I was not going to give him his own tier, so I threw him in the Samus, Mario, Snake tier.
