The final match of the most anticipated contest in years, and the board is most concerned with who gets a 500 topic. Given this trash result I think it's fitting. To me, the 500 topic is more important too... that is to say, it's not. And no this isn't just disdain for seeing OoT win... Old post and all, but I'll do it here anyway... Now, if we ran this next year, absolutely could get the anti-OoT sentiment, but not at this point. I just refuse to believe this will ever happen. No matter how many times we've run Link/Cloud or some version of Zelda/Final Fantasy, Zelda/Link always crushes FF/Cloud early and often. FFVII is considered to be the great evil that always wins, for whatever the reason. There will never be an anti-OoT sentiment. Since the start of this hour, FFVII has cut 49 votes off the lead and has 51.46% of the votes. It's looking a lot better now. I remember in 2006, creative mentioned that 2-3 is a bellwhether for FF vs. Zelda- that the results for this hour are usually pretty similar to the results for the whole day. I don't know if that's still the case, but if it is, and FFVII ends up winning this hour......best final ever, EVER. --- Link he come to town to win the Gamefaqs Contests. |

at OOT's matches with FFX on Sunday and Thursday, they had just about
the exact same trends, so it's fairly likely that most schools are

I'm
kinda tempted to agree that if OoT blows a lead this big overnight it
either has one of the worst night votes ever, or FFVII will have a
decent shot at actually winning. Of course, I don't see OoT sucking so hard that it loses its 1500+ lead. FFVII might, might get it to around 500, but I doubt it ever leads this match. --- There ain't no gettin' offa this train we're on |

agree,on this site OOT is jesus and will never get the backlash FFVII
has,but then again loads of people don't like jesus,so OoT might get a
few more anti votes over the years,last character battle it felt like

actually like Albion. He makes decent posts, backs up his arguments, is
not afraid to make risky predictions, and has the courage to admit it
when he makes a mistake. His opinions may be unpopular, but he at least

Based on what, this? http://www.gamefaqscontests.com/images/poll_graph.php?matchnum=2455&type=2&seconds=60&max=0 1500 is a *lot* of votes Yeah, that and the fact that if FFVII manages to gain 1500 on OOT by morning, that really really suggests that OOT was extremely frontloaded. FFVII will fall off with the day, but it will fall off from its overnight numbers. If those are high enough to gain 1500 on OOT tonight, probably the best OOT will be able to with the day vote is stall with the morning or make slight gains before being finished off with the afternoon/evening. --- Link he come to town to win the Gamefaqs Contests. |

Keep
on crying about how nobody respects FF7 and how no one will realize how
evil Nintendo is, and keep crying about GameFAQs topics and how the
contests have lost all credibility and SBAllen has ruined GameFAQs. Me? I'm gonna enjoy the match, have a good laugh, and then go on with my life until the next contest starts. Then I'll come back, see the same complainers here, and watch them whine once again about how much the contests suck. I'll laugh, have some fun, maybe get an account banned, and the process will repeat for the next 5-10 years until either Bacon decides to stop doing contests or maybe, just maybe, we finally outgrow contests concerning video games. the record I don't find Albion or MWC annoying at all really. BT, yes,
but that's mainly because he never bothers to use much reason in his
arguments which consist mostly of "lol x," and then he never admits it

I'd expect the vote totals to be high, but I don't know if it'll be
more conducive to a comeback. The 2007 final had 190,000 votes and Link
couldn't make a comeback with that. This match ain't gettin' anywhere
