I'd pick any Zelda game over FF7, personally. Even Majora's Mask. Zelda 2 is indeed underrated. Earthbound is awesome. Mother 3, on the other hand, now that's an overrated game, and I'm not saying that just because "OMG IT'S NOT EARTHBOUND." --- Wylvane's current main account. |

Shadow
of the Colossus is not overrated, if only because it's actually a game.
As in, you go and defeat a huge hulking colossus and get a huge sense
of achievement from that. |

Everything felt simpler, and I don't mean that in a good sense. I guess maybe that's the hardware limitations of the GBA vs. the SNES, but whatever, it's still a complaint. Although the story had its very powerful moments, I felt a stronger connection with the characters in Earthbound (probably because you don't get to play with most of the Mother 3 characters for any extended period of time since you keep jumping around chapters. Hey,
hey, wait. Shadow of the Colossus may not be the "omg 12/10 game of the
forever" that you hear sometimes, but I wouldn't say it's terrible.
I'd say it's about above average solely because a few of the Colossus
Battles are just so over-the-top incredible that they could almost

Ironically, Ocarina of Time makes me realize how bad Shadow of the Colossus really is. Link automatically grabs edges. No holding down triangle. No wild uncontrollable moments when an enemy moves half an inch. No terrible graphics or ****ty frame rates. A world map with stuff to do in it. Bosses that are actual bosses and not glorified hand-holding. Actual atmosphere, and not wannabe existential ****. And Ocarina was released nearly 10 years before SotC. SotC's transgressions are completely unforgivable. It's
been probably 2 years since I've played SotC, but I know for a fact
that neither of those is the (I think last) flying one... which is like
Colossus 13, IIRC. I'm not saying even the majority of the Colossus fights are that kind of quality. I mean, it's probably only like 4-5, but those ones are just incredible. It's a bad percentage overall, but when it gets it right, it gets it right in the most incredible way possible. But really, like I said, I'd say SotC is merely "above average", I'd give it maybe a 6/10, couldn't see it going much higher than that. --- xp1337: Don't you wish there was a spell-checker that told you when you a word out?
