Don't even act like you care about pleasing anyone with your pics, Zen!

uhhh I made this one with a "very generic" in mind so you guys couldn't complain. removing the red was the only thing I did extra at all.

I guess next time I shouldn't remove the red and make it look like all the others...? I don't see the point in making pics then.

and whatever it is you used (gradient overlay?) to make the characters have a blue-ish tint. i'm not sure what the red thing is at the bottom, so i'll cut you some slack there. could've done without the dates, too !

oh and the "Red thing" is actually pretty cool IMO, because if you remove the red from the characters then the white in the backdrop seems to become red when it goes through them somehow

I have no idea how it works but I think that's cool.

I'm actually not all that pissed anymore because I took time to reflect over Atlas Hale and decided to never do anything like that

and you guys don't seem to not like today's pic, just don't like the fact that I removed the red

oh wow, I just realized we did get a large helping of smilin' Tidus. Better than smilin' Squall yeah, but I don't think many people know that "serious tidus" exists. KP didn't. He thought it was brand new Dissidia art when he first saw it.

Analysis

Well here we are; the final match of the contest. For the last two months we’ve been voting for what we thought was the best game ever and for the first time since the series contest we have all the entrants here being the consensus. While this may be four-ways this battle is going to be between the two games that dominated the entire bracket while the other two will more or less become spectators.

At the beginning of today’s match I thought Metal Gear Solid 4 was going to be here, but Final Fantasy X managed to take control of the night and morning to win this match, its award, last place in the finals. Final Fantasy X is probably the weakest between the four entrants and of course it has Final Fantasy VII to deal with. The game is going to be crushed here as many Final Fantasy fans abandon it to give Final Fantasy VII a chance at winning.

The same can be said about A Link to the Past except replace Final Fantasy VII with Ocarina of Time. However the game will fare better than Final Fantasy X. Not only is it stronger, but the rift between it and Ocarina of Time is much larger than between Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy VII so Link to the Past fans will be too stubborn to vote for Ocarina of Time.

LoZ: Ocarina of Time may have dominated the bottom half and looked really good at taking the title during the beginning rounds, but it will fall just short at taking the title. The final few rounds Ocarina of Time didn’t look as dominant as Final Fantasy VII. The interesting thing about these two games is that they have almost opposite trends so even if one game builds a giant lead we could see somewhat of a comeback attempt. I wouldn’t say Ocarina of Time has no chance, but the chances are low.

Final Fantasy VII is ready to kick ass and take names. For the entire contest this game has been crushing opponent after opponent. The game has been very dominant that as it stands only one game will be able to break 40% and that is Ocarina of Time. At first I was a bit worried during its first two rounds, but as the contest wore on the game has been looking better and better. A reason that may be is for the last couple of rounds Final Fantasy VII has been greeted by mostly Nintendo games and could have thus given a false perception on its strength. I would expect that Final Fantasy VII would win in a one vs. one match and with Link to the Past I think it will take it rather easily despite Final Fantasy X being in the same poll.

It’s been a great contest with many upsets and flops along the way. It may have been a bore that we got a predictable semi-final and final, but that doesn’t change the fact that many of the early rounds were interesting to watch. While many people want a one vs. one poll between Final Fantasy VII and Ocarina of Time I think that will be a bad idea in the off-chance that those results are reversed compare to the final match thus rendering this entire contest as useless.

board vote != early vote. we've seen countless examples of this.

I don't know what to make of the early voting though.. how big of a lead after 5 minutes can OOT get before you worry about it winning? it could take a 50 vote lead and I'd favour FF7, but if it's 100 I'll get really worried.

I'm thinking OOT probably goes up the second update, and FFVII might not end the power hour that much higher than where it is after the first 5 minutes. It really doesn't matter too much though- if FFVII is stronger it will win regardless of trends.

3 AM is probably too early. If FFVII can get the lead by 4 AM, I'd say it's the favorite.

I dunno about calling it for Ocarina, I'd be very wary about doing so. But in Cloud/Snake II, before Snake had super frontloaded trends (and consequently before his early vote was miles better than his day vote), Snake managed a lead of 121 and went on to win it. So I'd feel pretty comfortable if Ocarina had a lead of 100 at the freeze, but even then I wouldn't want to call it.

I have no idea what to make of the board vote. FFVII's is still bad, which tells me Ocarina should take it without much trouble, but this is the biggest of big match atmospheres we've had since 2006, so they could just start 50/50 right out of the gate, who knows. Speaking of our 2006 final, though...

Zelda had 57% at the five minute mark. If Ocarina starts with that kind of relative percentage today, you're going to see a lot of gg posts early.

It ended with 50.99%. Just to get an idea of what the board vote might look like. Also, it wasn't until about 3 AM that Final Fantasy was making consecutive cuts into LoZ's lead.
