Again there are a lot of Zelda fans that love LttP and think OoT is overrated.

Exactly. That's why i think FFVII has this won. BUT i am disagreeing with people sayingit's going to be a blowout. I still firmly believe OoT would get a bigger % on FFVII 1v1 than it did 5 years ago.

Favourite game ever - Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

I honestly think both LttP and FFX are going to get sub 10% tomorrow. Maybe not quite, but I'll be stunned if either game breaks 13%. Everyone knows that the real match is FFVII vs. OOT.
FFX is my favorite game in that match, but I'm sure as hell not going to give it my vote. I believe that most voters will just ignore LttP and FFX and choose their favorite among the big two. This is the final, where it really matters. No more time to play around, wasting votes for games that don't have a shot.

The final four should thoeretically be the strongest 4 games in the competition, due to heavy Nintendo SFF that was not possible, we've got the 1st 2nd and 3rd strongest games but FFX is not even in the top 5. So tomorrow we will see how weak FFX really is.

I'm sorry, but no way was that result legit. It seems pretty obvious that Brawl had a massive overperformance in that match. Even though I know the GotY polls have been worthless, I think those give a more accurate read on Brawl vs MGS4.

Except in the series contest LoZ was looking like the favourite by the end. People were surprised it didn't win by more.

Once the semi-finals hit, yeah -- specifically seeing SMB get so close to FF7 the day before LoZ/FF, though LoZ nearly tripling MGS helped that too -- but up until then we mostly thought LoZ was taking advantage of SFF and FF would win the contest from its first update against Diablo.

Kinda hard to accept KHII > RE4 when RE4 beat it twice. I'd base KHII off of RE4, not TP.

Besides that, FFX beat KH twice by a decent amount and I don't know how many others will call for KH2 > KH -- especially by a significant margin.

I do think Brawl overperformed in that division final match, but seeing as how there's nothing else to base it on, there's not much reason to bother changing it. Going off of the GotY polls would be worse.

I actually think tomorrow's match might look surprisingly normal. I haven't really gotten a feeling that the site is getting that hyped for an FFVII/OOT showdown, and FFVII/OOT have never done better as a result of the site or internet caring intensely about the final before. I figure there exists a sizable fanbase here that hates Link/Cloud or at least wants them to stop winning, and they've got to vote for something tomorrow.

I don't buy Brawl (or Melee) being as strong as those stats suggest, but we're probably better off leaving the raw numbers and letting everyone decide for themselves how strong the games really are. Of course, I guess you then run into the problem of choosing which extrapolations to be raw....

Another thing: OOT has had at least one Nintendo game with it every round since round 3, so it's likely that almost the entire bottom half is overrated relative to it.

I really don't think old games are categorically stronger than new games, but they aren't categorically weaker either, and some specific old games (namely LTTP and CT) just happen to be really strong. I'm not even sure about how SMW and SMB3 stand, and I for one would still love to see SMB3 vs. SSBM or SMB3 vs. SSBB.
