MGS coming back with the day vote, lol

Well, RE4 came back with the day vote on MGS3 and both games have a bad day vote. It's just that RE4's day vote is a little bit better than MGS3's, since its trends are a little more balanced than the earlier RE games, giving it a slightly better day vote than the earlier RE games.

Why are people saying FFVII/OoT is the same as 2004? OoT would put more than 47% on FFVII now. Zelda is stronger and so is link. Zelda series wouldn't have had a chance in hell to beat FF 5 years ago, thigns have changed...not enough for OoT to maybe pull a shock but the difference between the games is certianly smaller. LttP is gonna hurt it too much though we need antoher 1v1 after the final tomorrow.

It had to deal with a Zelda game last round, and for all we know, it was also splitting with RE4 (maybe even more than RE4 was splitting with MGS4). Still a very solid performance, but I think Melee would have matched it without its unique disadvantage.

Tomorrow is the last day of the contest, and I was kinda surprised to realize that for once I'm not really gonna miss it.

FF7 deserves to be the favorite going in to tomorrow, but I almost have a hard time envisioning it winning - Ocarina should build up a lead in the hundreds with the first 2 hours. FF7 won't start making a move until like 2am. And the night vote won't have enough volume to really allow it to build a big lead.

The DSV should be OK for it, but it's gonna get hurt real bad with it's now poor ASV vs. one of the top ASVs. The much larger ASV difference is probably the biggest change between these two since 2k4. It's like I know FF7 should be favored slightly, but I can't figure out how it actually achieves victory.

If MGS4 did advance today, I would definitely consider it stronger than MGS. Although it won't advance, MGS/MGS4 is probably still up for debate on the strongest MGS game.

I think you're way too worried about trends. if FF7 is stronger it will win.

I'm not sure how big of a lead North America would have to launch OoT over FFVII with. I'm thinking if North America could provide OoT with like a 5000 vote lead or higher, it could probably be the favorite to win.

Oh I know that. (well with one caveat - the early vote/first two hours have more importance in 4ways, although FFX and LttP will have such low percentages that it's only slightly more importance here)

That's why I said I know it deserves to be the favorite. I'm just saying that I have a hard time envisioning in my head it how it actually pulls off the win.

The only thing I can really come up with in terms of mental imagery is if FFX does a couple points worse than LttP, which is quite possible, although which sibling is going to get humiliated more is hard to predict.

It's still hard to picture LttP getting as badly hurt as FFX. For one, it's still a bit stronger, and it also has the 2D/SNES factor to broaden its appeal a bit. I definitely think it'll steal more of Ocarina's percentage, but I also think its added strength and appeal could help the Zelda games combine for over 50% of the vote.
