I thought 57% would be the number to reach if it wanted a victory. Though 56% should at least probably stop it from losing any votes during the DSV, it might even gain a bit. Although probably not enough to stave off the comeback

For some reason Ocarina of Time had a higher votal this round than it did last round, not to mention that it currently holds the title of highest votal of the round, and I don't expect that the change.

This would be an awesome match if it somehow manages to duplicate last round's trends.

If the percents were to match, MGS4 would build a lead until the ASV all the way up to about ~1900 votes.

But then Brawl would make a comeback totaling about 1900 votes meaning a virtual tie

I thought MGS4 was a masterpiece myself but Brawl is so insanely popular. It would be something if MGS4 held it off considering its a PS3 exclusive vs. one of the fastest selling games on one of the most popular consoles of all time. But im not going to get my hopes up.

Ah, I'll do it. Here goes...

Zelda: Ocarina of Time kept about 106.55% of its votes from last round, about 82.06% of its votes from the round before, and about 73.79% of its votes from the first round. Boy, it's been doing well all contest. BTW it had a higher percentage and votal than Final Fantasy VII this round, but I doubt that its competition was any stronger than FF7's. One thing to note is that Ocarina of Time beat Melee in Asia but lost to it in the Philippines.

Pokemon Red/Blue kept about 93.21% of its votes from last round, about 78.34% of its votes from the round before that, and about 44.5% of its votes from the first round. I'm starting to think that Ocarina of Time DID SFF Pokemon, and Pokemon advanced because MGS and FF8 were hurting each other, or possibly Ocarina of Time was hurting MGS (hey, that's not fair! I may call OoT the Best Game Ever, but there are 20 or so games that I would accept it losing to without anger, and MGS and yes, even FF7, belong in there). I think Pokemon actually took 2nd place in the USA. Nothing much to say, to be honest.

Super Smash Bros. Melee kept about 44.94% of its votes from last round, about 42.06% of its votes from the round before that, and about 33.16% of its votes from the first round. And it seems that SSBM (and, by extension, all 21st century Nintendo titles) are casual bait that will fall at sight of an old Nintendo title.

Final Fantasy X kept about 89.91% of its votes from last round, about 81.89% of its votes from the round before that, and about 55.05% of its votes from the first round. Not much to say, really.

I've always noticed it doesn't really come into effect till 7. Night games always do well up until that point. And as we see, MGS started dropping in % since then..

Probably. But RE4 hitting the GameCube first was a huge feather in the cap to Nintendo and their fans because of the whole kiddie label. With RE4 they not only shed that label to a degree but also gave said "nintendo is kiddie" crowd a big F U when it was pretty much a concensus game of the year.

That was in the 2-way GotY final. In the 3-way GotY final, it got its biggest lead at 6:22 AM.

The more games involved the better MGS4 does. The core fanbase is dedicated... don't need fancy numbers too see this. Reference the few polls @ your disposal and its plain as day :)

MGS4 > Brawl!!! :D (on a side note... someone needs to tell resident evil it's not against scrub games anymore... overperformance anyone?)

Actually RE4 is underperforming, even going by last round stats it should be doing better.
