Answer this: How can FFVI be doing so much worse against LttP than it did last round? Again, considering that LttP is facing its toughest same-fanbase competitor yet? I'm talking about this particular match with these particular games...and the fact that FFVI is "mysteriously" underperforming against LttP now that a stronger FF game is in the match.

In the match you propose, of course OoT would win. It has no other Nintendo games to deal with. Now if you replace FFVIII or FFVI (whichever is stronger) with LttP...now THAT would be an interesting match.

Everytime someone mentions the RBY bandwagon, I get sick.
Nothing so far has indicated any kind of bandwagon for the game, and I see absolutely no reason why there would be a bandwagon for it.
it just doesn't make sense. It's always been this strong, from round 1 to round 3. It looked weaker in round 2, but it had GSC dragging it down, so that's to be expected.

Tomorrow will be OOT > FFX. Book it.

I don't believe RBY has a bandwagon either...yet. Bandwagons form when you get shocking results and upsets. Snake is the ultimate example of this, as we saw in the finals. IF RBY wins this match, it WILL have a bandwagon, most likely. For now, its relying on its strength, which I think is enough to beat FFX and Melee.

Hmmm...Mario 64's still got a shot at this. I'm impressed.

You all ridiculed me but those small consistent cuts were a precursor to what is about to come. The ASV. The cuts will be amplified and LTTP will be completely overwhelmed. Witness the demise of yet another Zelda game.

I don't even think a win tomorrow would create a bandwagon. There's a huge difference between beating FFX / Melee, and beating Cloud (or Sonic in Kirby's case).

Here's hoping for an absolutely insane ASV for SM64. It'll need it to beat LttP. In fact, I think it'll need a nice lead going into the SNV to have a shot. How big a lead would it need to be safe?

If SM64 wins this will be one of the best results ever.

Actually, a lot of Zelda fans probably voted for SM64 (including me). I really really like LttP, but I'm sick and tired of FFVII winning just because FF fans flock to it regardless of the fact that they like other games in the series better...if you can't beat em, join em.

In the final it may get second, but Id still guess it takes third. OOT has probably more hardcore fans than RBY. RBY isn't beating OOT in any round until the finals, so no one following these contests will jump ship from OOT to RBY in hopes of seeing FFVII fail.

Heh, that is pretty much what I'm doing with lttp. I honestly don't care one bit about that game, and only voted for it because I like OoT, Majora's Mask, Twilight Princess, and even that one DS game. Were it not for this attempted 4 day in a row kill on Zelda games, I'd probably end up voting for SM64 as well. Honestly, I watched my cousin play ff7 for one summer from beginning to near the end, and liked it more than most other games I've played just from watching. However, I played SM64 for a really long time when I was younger, and it was great too.

Zelda only has my vote because I don't want to watch all of Zelda go down in flames. Mario already has 2 games into the semifinals, and FF7 is gonna be just fine whether I vote for it or not.

...Man, a Mario 64 bandwagon would be epic. Seeing SM64 place would make these finals the best match ever, even better than Mario/Crono 2 or any of the other epics. Sure, it would be much more likely that it'd be SFF'ed into the single digits by OoT, but I can dream.

But let's get back to the current match. Here's hoping SM64 can get a good lead before the SNV comes. I see LttP doing much better than it would in it.
