I see SMB1 struggling to hit double digits here.

SMB may even totally avoid this situation. The early Mario games are known for their very high playrates, which is what enabled SMW to avoid being beaten down by SMB3. Only thing is, there is less overlap between SMW/SMB3 than SMB/SMB3, so maybe SMB does have a shot at being beaten down worse than I thought.

Hiiiiighly doubtful. We know it's placing below Zelda, and the only way it places is if it beats the other two Mario games.

...actually, scratch the doubtful thing. Almost a lock it won't place.

I also don't see how you think SMB1 placing is more likely than SMW winning. SMB3 is in massive danger here.

I agree that LoZ has a very slim window to be 2nd. It has some shot though, I think SMW/SMB3/LoZ will be packed relatively tightly. But, unlikely for sure.

I still don't get how weak Nintendo is in Asia. I thought they liked Nintendo there >_>

I'm guessing that's mostly Japan that likes Nintendo and we know Japan contributes very little votes to really affect the performance of a Nintendo game in Asia.

SMB3 and SMW did LFF last round, and FF1 and FF4 did not have 100% overlap in round 2. If Zelda 1 is still as close to Mario 3 as it was in 2004, it should be able to take first.

If LoZ doesn't place here, my bracket's basically dead because I have FFVII > Mario 3 > LTTP next round on the assumption that LoZ is there draining LTTP enough for Mario 3 to get by. I'm not sure I like that pick anyway now, but hey!

Well, darn. That's at least 8 points lost and really screws over my pick of SMB3 in the finals.
