Again,
this isn't last round. You can use the Power Hour all you want, but
Mario World has reason to do better in the Power Hour this round

This
proves Mario 3 is the strongest Mario game, easily. It's taking Mario
World's best effort and leeching from two other NES games to get Mario

Heh, Mario World's lead on Zelda 1 is exactly the same as Mario 1's lead on Zelda 1 last round. I'd be surprised if Zelda 1 placed at this point, but it should end up looking pretty good. I don't know what to think between Mario 3 and Mario World, though it would be nice to get full points for one quarterfinal (LttP > FFVII, Ocarina > MGS, TP > RE4 whoops). --- Mustache...and Green... http://backloggery.com/rpguy96 |

if World loses, they have their final rematch next round, and then
it'll be a winner-takes-all, no-holds-barred slugfest to determine

So, if Mario 3 wins anyway, can we forget this NES/SNES LFF stuff? I was never a supporter of that theory, but I did think that another Super Mario Bros. game in the poll would hurt SMB3 more, even if barely. Last round it was thought to be fighting to advance over FF4, so wouldn't that make it do just as well last time? Not really. Fighting with Mario 3 for Mario supremacy would be more important. And
World beating SMB3 only makes the rivalry that much more awesome. It's
the Mario/Crono of this contest, except Crono isn't washed-up and it's
one of those life-long debates that fanboys have argued since the dawn
of time. There's always been this epic debate between whether SMB3 or
SMW is the best Mario game of all time, and it's awesome to see this
rivalry flourish on GameFAQs. Maybe it's a fanboy thing, but I'm really enjoying this. --- Wylvane's current main account. |

After
seeing SMB3/SMW last round and SMW leading SMB3 so far in the
early-going of this match, please, BT, I encourage your to elaborate. SMW needs SMB1 and to a lesser extent Zelda to hold SMB3 back to squeak out the win, and that's assuming it actually wins. I'll
agree with Leon that I don't entirely trust SMW right now due to the
Power Hour and this being an all-Nintendo match, but it does look like
quite a difference between them thus far twenty minutes into the match.
We saw twenty minutes into Sunday's match that RE4 wasn't hanging tight
with LoZ:TP again, though that's an exaggerated case...but this isn't a
trend SMB3 wants to follow anyway. --- BT > Harrich lol me |

would be nice to see the three big Mario games duke it out once and for

It's
the three Marios. Everybody's played at least one of these. We're
talking about three different Nintendo consoles here. I don't see FF7
