I'm fine with MGS3 advancing, if only because it hurts MGS4, and if TP and Brawl manage to both advance, TP might hold down OoT enough for FFX and Brawl to advance, and FFX will hurt FF7 enough that Brawl will win by being LFF'd less!

There's no way this could go wrong!

Oblivion has definently been one of the stars of the contest in my eyes. Most people didn't even expect it to get out of round 1 and yet here it is in round 3, probably getting over 20% against such major franchises as Zelda, Metal Gear Solid, and Resident Evil. Gotta give it some props

Agreed. On the other hand, I'd say SF2 is the turd of the contest. Again, getting blown the hell out by Sonic 1, losing by nearly 10,000 votes would've been acceptable if Sonic 2 and 3 didn't ass it up. And there's no way in hell you can tell me that Castlevania III or Civilization caused any funny business since they barely got 20% of the vote between them. As if that wasn't enough, it lost to Sonic the next round despite Mario 3 being in the poll (and we've seen Sonic fold to Nintendo before in this format: namely, Yoshi/Knux, Shadow/Zidane, and most notably, Sonic/Kirby, though that match looks to be all sorts of whacked out).

guys i think you need to rethink how you look at contests with games and not characters

games are not going to only have overlap by genre or company or whatever

a lot of people like and play a lot of good games, especially on a website like this, where people come to play games.

good games will have overlap because they are good, and people play them and like them. and this is especially more notable with the contest being in 1v1v1v1 format.

waaaaay too focused on figuring out which fanbase does what imo

MGS3 is gaining too slowly to be able to get any kind of good lead here. It probably won't even be above 500 by 8:00 AM, which is around when the day vote starts to kick in on a weekend match. RE4 should have the better day vote than MGS3 and has over 12 hours to pull a comeback.

Since my last post in here, MGS3 has been climbing up a lot faster in the past hour. It might even break a 500 vote lead before 8:00 AM, though I think RE4 can still pull off the comeback.

The late morning tends to have more ASV trends on weekends, but weaker while the afternoon becomes like the DSV which becomes the SNV.
